Some of these early tournaments are played in hotel ballrooms and the like. I'm worried it might throw our shooters off. Someone mentioned it on one of the UT forums.

Well, let's score off the press and then in halfcourt on the blocks...they can shoot the three ball... ;) One of the advantages of having an inside game...

Painter gets there and measures the rim to ground 10ft. Measures the free throw, 15ft.
Same size court, let's play ball.

(Hoosiers inspired)

If you are a true baller what court you play on shouldn't matter nor should the lighting. I'm sure everybody on Purdue's team has experience playing in all environments Outside Inside excetera excetera excetera you get the picture. Purdue will have no problem shooting.

Bilas just confirmed during Maui game that Atlantis is played in a converted Ballroom...

I'm not sure how the Atlantis ballroom compares, but returning Purdue players (take away Biggie & Spike's #s) shot a combined 25-41 (61%) from 3pt at the Hard Rock Hotel in Cancun last year vs Utah St & Auburn.

Dakota has a custom court at his house built off his moms kitchen, so he is used to odd courts. Maybe he will raise that 3pt% to first in the country :)

Wow, grateful to all the D1 ballplayers here offering their experience playing under the big lights.

I played high school, junior high, etc. growing up in Indiana. A few games under what you might call "the big lights" (seemed that way to us, at least). Adapting to cracker box gyms under "little lights" wasn't easy either.

Ever play on courts with "railroad tracks" (double center lines, to make up for being 20 feet or more short end-to-end)? Eight-sided courts (all four corners cut at diagonals, to fit in more bleachers)?

Hoops flush against the back walls ... Fan-shaped backboards (Do they still use those in Illinois?) ... Gyms with no acoustics and pep sections clacking wood blocks in unison; No wonder I need a hearing aid now).

We played a game where an attempted floor-length pass got caught in the overhead net. Only ball we had and no one there knew how to roll down the net. We had to wait a half-hour till they called a janitor who knew how to do that.

I loved every minute.

All joking aside, I hope everything is up to standards and the players are aware of any deviations. Recall the Paul George injury a few years ago where the stanchions were too close to the baseline.

Two years ago my son played a game in an empty Smothie King center where the Pelicans play. First two shots he took were catch and shot and he missed the basket by at least 3 feet.

It was funny watching a pretty good shoting team chuck up air balls.

Bite your tongue Mandeville!!! Not fun at all if it would happen today! TIC!

maybe...maybe not. I'm guessing that Purdue is better inside, but that is a guess based on no knowledge of Tennessee

Oh good thought TJ!!! So many butterflies in my stomach that didn't even cross my mind.... Stomach settling already:p.....Boiler Up!

I took a half day vacation...recording is set for later and about to watch it live. Anything but a poor shooting game coupled with poor decisions and Purdue gets the W...

Next, just like in barbershop... ;)
