Harbaugh: "I didn't cheat"

Also Jim Harbaugh: "If/When they find out I actually did cheat, I want UM to grant me immunity from any repercussions"

Looks like UM's desire to get a NC at all costs will end up costing them in the end.

Harbaugh is doing the exact same thing many other coaches have done. They have success. They get an offer from a different team. They suggest they might leave. And then they get their school to pony up big money to retain them.

On the other hand if he does leave, I doubt Michigan will hire Some young assistant coach to replace him!

As for cheating and the ncaa, Don’t expect the NCAA to take any further action against him or Michigan! And ask anybody at Michigan and they will tell you the price they paid sacrificing an assistant coach was worth the championship

If cheat to win, you really didn't win. Let's see how tough they talk when the NCAA tells them they have to vacate their championship. LOL

But it’s not an NCAA championship. It’s a CFP championship. They could tell them to take the banner down, but Michigan could turn around and tell them to go pound it.

The ncaa already imposed their punishment! They aren’t going to punish them further. It’s just like Kansas and Arizona basketball. While you may think they are really big cheaters, the ncaa already. Took as much action as they were going to take. Obviously in their mind it wasn’t as big of a deal as some of you think. FSU was charged with using nil for recruiting. Did the ncaa bring down the hammer on them? No. It was a slap on the wrist.

Will it, though ?

If they don’t want to offer him the contract he wants, then don’t.
Cost is more than just money.

It could cost them a HC to the NFL.

Without Harbaugh, the NCAA could focus on punishing UM instead.

Prospective HCs could think twice about taking a job at a sanctioned program.

It is not like this will be the first time that they have been in trouble with the NCAA. They are used to it. The Fab Five were getting NIL money before there was the NIL.

No they haven't.
Look around at the other punishments the NCAA has dished out against other teams in the past 5 years. Do you really believe they will take any additional action against Michigan? If they did, Michigan would expose so many other schools who are doing the exact same thing. Do you truly believe Michigan is the only school that is stealing signs of other teams? Even if not physically in the stands, teams have other means of obtaining information about their opponents. College teams also have a bad habit of being predictable.

As for the Astros, what % cares about an *. ? What % cared if Sosa and McGuire were on steroids? What % cares about bad or missed calls by refs? Are refs going to start calling more fouls, traveling and palming the ball? Is the NFL commish ever going to change the results of a game? No to all of the above.

Riddle me this "IF" the CFP and committee does not follow the NCAA rules 1) why are ineligible players not playing in the three games and 2) why does participation in it count for the number of games a player participated in for the season?

While I agree it does not get one a NCAA Trophy for winning it I do believe they follow all the NCAA rules in participating in it!

Harbaugh believes it enough to make UM write in immunity clauses in his contract. That alone says enought.

Does your son not care about cheating like you don't? He is a BT coach correct? Does he approve using illegal performance enhancing drugs as you do? Does he simply look the other way to win?

Much of sports is filled with dishonesty. Have you ever seen a player state they didn't make a catch when awarded one that wasn't one? Players trained to flop to incur penalties that never actually occurred. Players taught how to hold so that holding won't be called on them. Etc. How refreshing it might be to play in a pick-up game with no referees and the players call the fouls themselves honestly. Sports is filled with dishonesty, and much of coaching encourages it.

Come on wolegib. Does your son practice what you preach? He's a coach. Does he look the other way on performance enhancing drugs? Cheating is AOK with you. Your son believe in cheating like you do?

Harbaugh is facing a lying to the NCAA sanction. Jim Tressell had the same, was fired & given a show cause and an NFL suspension too.

Harbaugh is also facing a cheating investigation. Some people think this could be criminal as well since they are state employees cheating to get a new contract. Similar situation would be Atlanta public schools cheating their metrics to get more grants. The leaders in that situation got 5 years in federal prison.

There was once an article or post detailing the cars that the Fab 5 drove as college students. No Mavericks in the bunch.
