Turned up the man-to-man and the shots started to fall and contrary to what the chicken littles all thought and hoped, Purdue pulls out an ugly one!

Good coaching job by Painter to change things up.

It's true. Although I felt bad for GSU with all the calls against them at the end. They were mostly correct calls, but you hate to lose that way.

I've said something similar in the past and it is very true. This team has talent and just had an off night, it happens. The key is to learn and not have many more of them.

We have talent but have too many holes.
Going to be similar to last year with a chance to be a little better.

Painter needs to do the loose ball drill in warm-ups before the next game!!! The most Boilermaker like player besides Biggie was Spike. Maybe it is the #55.

Yeah, I guess that's why this year's team took the reigning national champion to the wire, while last year's got upset big time by University of Arkansas, Little Rock....

Once again we are celebrating a close loss...at home. Drilled McNeese St at home and were down 13 with under 7 min left to Georgia St. Yeah...looking great so far this year

GSU has a decent program. I don't think this game will look that bad as the season goes along. Besides, as BBG says, every team has games where they struggle.

spike came in and we turned the game around, this is why he should have been in the nova game more

Our offense can't get in any type of flow when we run this pound it in the post and get fouled. It's different when we are actually getting fouled going up for shots. But when teams continually foul on the floor then we miss or turn it over. Our flow is a disaster. Now I know that's why we came back bc they fouled out. Just saying when our shots aren't falling we need to try and get better at going up strong quicker so the fouls aren't on the floor.

It was a trap game for sure. We under performed for like 34 minutes and then woke up, thank goodness! When I saw Shon Morris was announcing the game I knew we were in trouble! That Northwestern grad always seems to give our team a bad vibe. Glad we escaped with the win.

Mentioned this about Morris in the Game thread. He makes some good comments, but as far as Purdue games go.....the man's a jinx.

You know I would be interested to see our stats when he is announcing vs not. Just for fun :)

That's what I was thinking. You have a top twenty team down by 13 on THEIR court and you end up losing by going dry for 6 minutes!

They probably will have a good year and will learn from this experience (which is what the preseason is about).
