Wow on that last td. Props for the tb stopping but not sure whay was going on with day after that. Either there was something said before the game that day was pissed about or he was just being an ass.
If I were Day I'd have taken the knee and hoped IU got in the playoffs. But it sounds like OSU was taken aback by how confidently IU approached the game and it was a "welcome to the big leagues" statement by them.Wow on that last td. More of a "you don't belong here" I thinkit was a "welcome to the big leagues" statement by them.
they'll still get in the playoff, Ole Miss lostIf I were Day I'd have taken the knee and hoped IU got in the playoffs. But it sounds like OSU was taken aback by how confidently IU approached the game and it was a "welcome to the big leagues" statement by them.
Definitely helped them.they'll still get in the playoff, Ole Miss lost
Sun Devils - BYU is a big game tooHere's gonna be the interesting scenario as it applies to Indinia. SMU and Miami both win out, play each other in the ACC CG. Both ahead of Indinia. One of them loses. Does that team drop below Indinia in the final rankings? That's the key. The committee keeps telling us that getting to, then losing your conference championship game shouldn't hurt you. I think they're going to get dropped significantly Tuesday, but then they can beat Purdue and sit back and let other teams lose. Gonna be interesting.
Kinda, and I almost said that, but can only see one team getting in from the Big 12 no matter what. The loser today is done. Meanwhile Kansas giving it to Colorado early.Sun Devils - BYU is a big game too
it's a good match up anywayKinda, and I almost said that, but can only see one team getting in from the Big 12 no matter what. The loser today is done. Meanwhile Kansas giving it to Colorado early.
If you say so. Don't really care or follow it that closely. Just know their resume is bad.they'll still get in the playoff, Ole Miss lost
they have a bad resume, yes but I think they belong in a 12 team playoff, that game was closer than it looked, they gave up 14 points to special teams which is correctable and the last TD was just window dressingIf you say so. Don't really care or follow it that closely. Just know their resume is bad.
You could also argue that Indiana's late TD was garbage time too. Effective final score of 31-7.they have a bad resume, yes but I think they belong in a 12 team playoff, that game was closer than it looked, they gave up 14 points to special teams which is correctable and the last TD was just window dressing
can't believe the Refs called that , wasn't closeMeanwhile, Penn State got a gift PI call late in the first half, ended up scoring to theoretically tie the game, but the XP was blocked and returned for 2 points for Minnesota! RTB up 19-16.
agree, thought Day was giving that up to help iu into playoff w/ close lossYou could also argue that Indiana's late TD was garbage time too. Effective final score of 31-7.
It's going to be interesting to see where they end up, particularly where it relates to SMU.
Didn't look like PI along with it being uncatchable out of bounds. Double bad call.can't believe the Refs called that , wasn't close
I think it’s all irrelevant as I only expect one team from B12 to go.Kinda, and I almost said that, but can only see one team getting in from the Big 12 no matter what. The loser today is done. Meanwhile Kansas giving it to Colorado early.
The rb blew through the line when iu knew a run was coming and slid down at the goal line, so the last TD was not really window dressing in terms of not being a reflection of relative strength. And OSU had at least 5 sacks. So I don't think it was closer than the score looked.they have a bad resume, yes but I think they belong in a 12 team playoff, that game was closer than it looked, they gave up 14 points to special teams which is correctable and the last TD was just window dressing
Also to be fair, IU's last touchdown was also just window dressing.they have a bad resume, yes but I think they belong in a 12 team playoff, that game was closer than it looked, they gave up 14 points to special teams which is correctable and the last TD was just window dressing
agree w/ that as I stated above in reply to Chi BoilerAlso to be fair, IU's last touchdown was also just window dressing.
Didn't look like PI along with it being uncatchable out of bounds. Double bad call.
I was just going to post that, on Minny last drive the receiver had his mask yanked on the 30 and the announcers even said w/ a possible facemask and nothing was called, would have taken it to the 15That was ridiculously bad.....they've also missed a couple of face-mask penalties on Penn State.
IU was talking shit before the game and Day didn't like it when IU went for 2 and the on side kick when the game was over.Wow on that last td. Props for the tb stopping but not sure whay was going on with day after that. Either there was something said before the game that day was pissed about or he was just being an ass.
Agreed —- the object of the game is to score touchdowns.IU was talking shit before the game and Day didn't like it when IU went for 2 and the on side kick when the game was over.
They’ve been cheering on Cignetti “running it up” on everyone all season.Agreed —- the object of the game is to score touchdowns.
I feel pretty confident in stating that none of these butt- hurt IU people whining about OSU’s “classlessness” will have any problem with IU tacking on meaningless TD after TD next week against Purdue…
Uh if someone loses in the championship game it’s still an automatic bid for the winner. So that actually works against indiana. If clemson beats South Carolina next week or Miami beats smu in championship game. If Miami loses next week then clemson plays smu and good chance they both go if clemson beats the cocks. Long way of saying any way you want the acc to play out there’s a decent chance there could be 2 teams. Same with big 12. Colorado, Arizona state, Iowa state could all get a spot and take an automatic qualifier. It’s possible the acc, byu, and b12 could have AQ out of top 10 so indiana would have to finish in top 9 to get in.Several other key losses today helped IU’s cause. I have to believe 1-2 teams will be upset next week. And somebody will lose in a championship game. I understand the results of a championship game are not supposed to matter. But if you look at past college football and championship game results and bowl bids, it does matter. I’ve seen several sec and big 10 teams that were not in the championship game get better bowl bids than the teams that lost.
I expect somebody in the sec or big 12 or acc will be upset next week and IU will gain the last playoff bid. The only question I have is being the last playoff team better than the potential bowl bid they would receive if they finished the season with 1 loss but were not in the playoffs?
Indinia fans are nothing if not hypocrites in clown pants.Agreed —- the object of the game is to score touchdowns.

IMO they need to find a good way to factor in SOS. There have been way too many games where someone was highly ranked because they beat up on lower teams.. only for them to lose when going up against teams that play ranked opponents more and win. Like yesterday between O$U and indiniaWith A&M and Bama losing, the sec may be beating themselves up enough to allow indiana to sneak in. There is no doubt there are 6-7 SEC teams better than indiana but we will know a lot more in a few days when they release the rankings. It should be noted they already had 4 2-loss sec teams ahead of 1-loss acc and b12 teams. The part that isn’t being discussed is the spite factor. Will the committee representing a wide range of conferences and the sec and big ten with a diluted influence spread the wealth to spite the sec and maybe B1G? Or maybe even the opposite they agreed to redo the criteria after this round are they worried the sec and B1G will come down hard if they don’t get what they want and effectively shut out the others?
The committee is way smarter on this than us. Politics could be a factor. But SOS is a major driver, florida state knows all about that! Sagarin is not out yet but the ESPN power ratings have them 11th after all the games and a 97.7% chance of making the playoffs (basically they just need to beat us!). But they still have 5 SEC teams in the top 8 and if those 5 get spots then there’s not a spot for indiana.IMO they need to find a good way to factor in SOS.
