Just wanted to stop by and say good luck from a Jayhawk. I have really enjoyed watching your team over the course of the year and really respect how you guys play great team basketball, as does a majority of my fellow KU fan friends. Thursday nights match-up should be a great game and I fully expect it to go to who ever can control the final five minutes. If any of you are heading to KC for the games, expect to have a total ball...great town for college basketball. Good luck Boiler nation !

Thanks for the respectful post. Really looking forward to the game as well.

Josh Jackson and Frank Mason might have me more worried then I wish I was though. Those two will be tough to guard for us, you guys have a great team this year. I wish the game was not so close to Lawrence KS and that your fans didn't travel so well ha. I was hoping to go to the game but with the ticket demand and prices, plus the distance from West Lafayette it just didn't seem worth it. Good luck, and lets all hope the refs let the players decide the outcome!

Thanks. We'll take any luck we can get. We've not had a ton historically in the NCAA tournament so we're due and I'd certainly love to cash those credits in on Thursday.

I'm really looking forward to this game --- and, no, I'm not saying Purdue will win.

But... seeing the match-up of Kansas's All-American guards vs. Purdue's front line is one that I've hoped we'll get to see since the bracket was announced.

Your correct, I don't expect to see many visiting fans for the other three teams involved.

If we do win on Thursday though, the secondary ticket market would probably be flooded with Kansas fans trying to sell Saturday's ticket on the cheap.

Very much agree. If we win Thursday then there is no way I'm missing the game Saturday with a chance at getting to the final four. I'm hoping that Boiler nation comes out and picks up most of the KU tickets being sold if this is the case. If Oregon wins, I can't see them bringing a huge crowd with them like Michigan would.

You think it will be close to 70% KU fans and 30% the other three teams? I was shocked at how well ISU traveled to Milwaukee in our game against them. Is that normal for Big 12 teams or just ISU and KU fans base?

If Purdue wins ticket prices will plummet to nothing so plan on making the trip on Saturday.
Secondly, ISU fans are nuts for basketball. Historically since the days of the Big VIII they have always traveled well. They are annoyingly present in Kansas City every year for the Big XII tournament.

Maybe...My best guess would be about 85-90% KU and the other three combined for 15-10%. Oregon wont have hardly any obviously because of distance and they don't really travel much for hoops. Michigan I have no idea, but I have been to other regions that they are included in and they really don't travel much for hoops. You guys tell me on Purdue? I was in Milwaukee over last weekend for your game vs Iowa State and it was majority ISU even though Chicago/Indiana are way closer then Iowa. This is just my best guess though. If Kansas loses Thursday night I could see a lot of fans from the Big Ten schools come in for Saturdays game.

To respond to your question on BIG 12 schools traveling. KU is obviously top dog in terms of support but ISU, WVU travel very very well

Thank you for your kind comments. Two great teams. Two great universities. Really looking forward to the game and I plan on taking a nap at work so I guarantee I will be ready. Lucky spot on couch has been determined. Things over on the Phog board look great as far not being disrespectful-good to see. This game scares the crap out of me but I trust our Boilers will be ready for the challenge.

Folks, this is how the fans of a blue-blood program behave.

I don't think Kentucky or Duke fans are like this. It has been a bucket list item to visit the PHOG. Maybe with the home and home I will get my chance.

Good luck to the Jayhawks as well! Looking at all 8 of the games this round of the tourney, it is going to be an amazing couple days for hoops fans!

I may be biased and obviously every fan base has its share of bad apples, KU certainly does but in a whole we are by far the most respectful and friendly of the big programs in my opinion. I have been around UK and IU fans and they are just insufferable. Went to Rupp this season for KU vs UK and they were just awful, cursing at my 8 year old son at the game for cheering for KU just because we were winning. If you come to AFH in the future there is no doubt you will be treated with total respect and will have a great time...bonus: there is a bar in Lawrence and if your team beats us at AFH half off your beers !!!

Now that's incentive!

You should try Ohio State... lol... speaking of the first part of your paragraph.

You obviously haven't spent much time around Michigan football fans.

Notre Dame football fans are bad too, but if you've been around IU hoops fans, then you know that: they are the same people.

Should be a good game. Hopefully the refs don't bail you out on a bunch of head-jerking takes to the hole and it could be a long night for KU. I would be very worried! Crowd or not

Definitely not "very worried" haha...I think it will be a great game between two very good teams.
