The last 5 min of the IL game and the whole NE game was a "funk". In the back of my mind, I was thinking 'panic button'. Glad it was broken vs PS. Couldn't watch it live, as my son and I went to the ISU game vs Belmont. Damn those ISU kids can shoot.

Hope so. But Edey & Company will need to step up finally on the road against a clearly inferior team. Haven't done so yet and let home teams play above their rasin. Good time to start next time out.

Yes ISU can hoop. Fun team that will compete in ncaat if they can hold it together and get in the dance.

For the first 3-5 min of the PSU game, it was there too. Especially for Zach. And then, his man tripped over himself /air twice and Zach received the entry pass and abused the rim on his dunk. From there, Purdue went on like a 23-2 run and Zach was “fixed” aka “the Zachen” was released and…then he went on to a 30 and 20 game 😂

I would not say a clearly inferior team in IU. Their rankings coming out of HS were much better than our kids, they have 3 5 star recruits and we have none. Their 6th year point guard has been around for ever and can play with anyone. It will be a war and we will have to play our best just to beat them.

"they have 3, 5 star recruits and we have none."
And how that happens with their high, head-coach turnover rate, being mediocre for the last 20 years or so, compared to CMP being a committed legacy coach (not going anywhere) is beyond belief. It just boggles my mind. Maybe someone can explain it to me. Its almost to the point of "lets hire a new coach every 6-7 years or so and see if that helps recruiting". Maybe a space alien can explain it to me.

They have some individual talent. However I said....iu was clearly the inferior TEAM.

As we are ranked top 5 all year and iu TEAM currently isn't ranked, not projected an ncaat team much of this year.....I stand by my statement.

I do recognize they are capable of playing well at home. I expect them to. They are capable of beating us when playing way above their ability. Perhaps they will? Thus yes, I EXPECT this to be a war.

Prior to getting into his 3rd season, Woodson could sell high level recruits on the fact that he coached in the nba and therefore, he could get them there with connections he had made and also use players (Carmelo Anthony) to tell recruits he was a good coach to play for.

He got lucky TJD came back and was able to fill a lot of holes on both sides of the ball. JHS exploded for 1-2 games last year and got drafted, but is (so far) not looking to be NBA ready, but Woodson has had 2 players drafted. Ware, already a projected lotto pick out of high school and Mgbako—also projected lotto pick, thought IU would be a good place for them. However, the offensive and defensive schemes aren’t great this year (without TJD) and I feel like wards potential has not been reached and Mbgako has not been anywhere close to his ranking coming out of high school.

They are 12th lowest in the amount of threes they take and make in the country and their defense stinks and they can’t rebound or shoot FTs (all of which will probably be season high numbers Tuesday haha). I’m not sure, why as a a guard or forward, you’d want to play in this type of offense? But anyways, they also have a lot of NIL money, so I guess recruits are (rightfully so) interested in that too. If they don’t do much this year or next, I’d suspect the recruits, will look elsewhere to progress their careers.

Yes on Ware.
But I did not see Mgbako projected near that in 24 or 25 drafts. But could happen, maybe?? if his play improves.

Oh no I meant both those guys were projected lotto picks coming out of high school. Ware is going to be in the 15-25 range and mbgako right now is out of the top 100. If he weren’t ranked so high out of high school, he wouldn’t even be thought of as an NBA potential player. He is a 6’8 guy who can shoot when wide open, but there’s nothing else about him that screams NBA potential. He is slow, no explosiveness, and has no idea how to play defense. I guess he could clean that up in the offseason, but he has underwhelmed so far…but he ll for sure have a career game vs us on Tuesday 😂

Banners on the ceiling and your state is your name. IU flags flying everywhere for the next 40 years (since you won anything) doesn't hurt. Bada boom

Then comes coach K with non state-name 'Duke', no banners, vs state name NC. What kind of sorcery and black magic did he use?
The kind of personality and motivator that makes you a hall of fame coach and/or maybe the best of all time.
That Duke is an Ivy quality school with N.Carolina weather doesn't hurt.
But that was mostly on coach K.
