80! Not a Purdue graduate but have great respect for the school for its combination of great sports and great academics. Moved to Lafayette in Dec 1969 and said I would stay till Purdue went to the Rose Bowl again. Still here, and I wear a 2001 Rose Bowl watch. Don't think we have to wait 34 years for the next Rose Bowl!

Boiler UP!!! Go Boilers! Hail Purdue!

Approaching 51. Went to high school between Indy and Bloomington. Black and Gold was not popular but I’m big enough that it didn’t lead to too much trouble;). Coached a little AAU when my daughter was playing but prefer coaching local youth teams. No travel. It’s fun to see them learn how a team sport really works. I only coach basketball now.
This is a good board. Lots of people with their heads on relatively straight.

45, Class of '95.

Parents graduated from Purdue ('68 and '69) and originally from West Point, IN, lots of family connections with Purdue. I was raised in Dearborn, MI (my dad was an engineer for Ford). I knew where I would be attending college from about the time I was nine years old, attended Purdue Basketball Camp many a time, and bleed OLD gold and black.

For those on this thread with Harrison High connections, I am friends with the Dirksen family (met Joel when we were freshmen and living in the since-demolished Fowler Courts).

Joel Dirksen ... LOL ... good kid ... probably a great guy ...

56. BSIM in 1983. Fan since I was about 16. Originally a Region Rat, but moved the family to Hendricks County in 1993 and been here since. Unfortunately I still have steel particles and steel mill pollution in my lungs. Hoping for the best. Being a Grandpa is the best.

38 north manchester, home foreclosure contractor and classic car flipper. Got into Purdue sports young late 80's really got into during the Big dog era. Becoming an IU and ND bandwagon fan was simply not for me

I turn 34 next week. Grew up cheering for IU and Butler because of family ties. My brother in law is Danny Allen and played when Thad was just an assistant and they were really bad. (My cousins are getting closer age to play college hoops. The daughter is 17 and is on the Norway national team with dual citizenship. She is 6'2, so that helps. The younger cousin is 15 and he is about 6'3 and has been playing point guard for a few age groups higher for a while now. He will probably end up 6'6-6'8. He has been going to the Butler camps for a while. He has excellent handles and shooting for his size). I still used to love going to their games as a kid and meeting the players and coaches, though I don't remember any of them in particular. As for IU, I was a fan because my dads first wife ended up marrying Todd Leary's father. I became a Purdue fan because me and my three siblings all went to Purdue. Great school, great people, and a great fanbase. I am very happy with the state of the school and the athletics. Everything seems to be going in the right direction and it's a great time to be a Boiler.

Honestly, we need to grab a beer before or after a Purdue game some time! Love talking to people who knew my dad now that he has passed away. Always rekindles the fire of my memories as if he were still here!
Make a lot of memories in life and keep them close. In the end it's all we really have from the past.
