Flory Bidunga, former Indiana Mr. Basketball, 5 Star, from Kokomo

These days it's more a businesse decision...Get paid to go to a program that produces pros....Hope you are only there one year and go pro....And if it doesn't work out you can leave, get paid again with no penalties

But, with the Purdue's recent departures, does this open to the door to his recruitment? IU offers playing time but I would think the young man would want to be a part of something that would likely put Purdue preseason #1 with the addition of Oscar and Flory.

Also, Purdue is 'home turf.' This kid is from the Congo but arrived via Kokomo. Let's his HS coach in the loop so that he can explain the glide path to the NBA.

It would be nice to have a bouncy big to change things up.....But he has all eyes on the nba and I bet he wants a place where he is guaranteed big minutes

I would pay money to see Smith on the court with 4 Bigs.

Wild.

I think Zach (playing time) was a concern for Purdue back then. I think with Cluff that the playing time available is not there. Jacobsen wants minutes...Burgess wants minutes...Trey wants minutes...Cluff wants minutes. would have loved having him before now even with his offensive skills being behind others. Braden would make him score a lot of points... ;) Although maybe his best friend in high school is on the Purdue bench, I doubt it carries much weight today

That's a lot better than going to the Icky Hicky Hoosiers.
IU could be really bad next year. Only 4 guys on roster. I know there is still time and a new wave of talent could enter, but I think there is a huge dip in talent due to no Covid year Srs.

Ridiculous! Why bother to enter it if he had little intention of leaving.
Well, things changed a lot at Kansas since Flory entered the portal. The Jayhawks ended up with six players in the portal and eight open spots on the roster. He probably looked at that and said " I'm sure to be a starter and the NIL is as good as anywhere else."

It’s called leverage
It’s called don’t let the door hit you on the arse on your way out.

They can negotiate behind closed doors. If they aren’t committed to the program, then hit the portal.

Not many are committed to the program
Anymore. With 1500+ guys in the portal this year, it’s all about the $$$.

We lost mainly wings ie sg/sf, we lost one center because he was buried on the bench and about to go even deeper on the bench with the return of one player and the portal transfer of another, and only one center leaving.

I dont see our offseason players leaving giving more time to a freshman center personally. I think Bidunga would not play much here as a freshman still.
