…Larry Bird.

Not physically big, but plays bigger than he is now, versatile shooter, good passer, better defender than most realize, deftly moves well and understands position, wants the ball crunch time, makes those around him better, and will surprise you. Going to be fun to watch him develop…

I feel like he is a cross between E’Twaun Moore and Ryan Cline.
He's got more Etwaun than Cline too. Everyone kept pigeonholing him into the Cline/Sasha role, but if you payed attention to his HS and AAU highlights he was a crafty 3 level scorer who was very comfortable making plays off the dribble.

Props to the poster who said he'd average 14ppg before the season. He might not get there, but they were spot on with the impact he is making.

I was thinking kyle macy. Macy was a scoring machine in high school. he sort of started at Purdue as a freshman and ended up having a nice college career and did ok in the nba.

I’m sticking with my Troy Lewis comp.

Ryan Cline was an outstanding shooter...but he could not drive with the ball to the basket and definitely not dunk like Loyer did today. Loyer gets to the free throw line much more than Cline did...due to Loyer's ability to take the ball to the basket. Cline was a catch and shoot player...Loyer has more of a game than Cline.

I wonder what's better, 5 Ryan Cline's or 5 Fletcher Loyer's?

Averaging 13.1 so not 14 LOL

If he grows a fro, we will have a 6’9” guard.

That’s why I see him as a cross between Moore and Cline. Cline could handle the ball and drive when the opportunity was there, but he wasn’t as good of an athlete as Fletcher so he really had to pick his spots. Moore was a little more athletic than Fletcher and would have made that dunk yesterday look a little easier. Fletcher is somewhere in the middle.

What Cline did great and I see some of this in Fletcher, is create his own three point shot. He could take over a game from the outside and I think that we will see Loyer do that as well, many times, over his career at Purdue.

He's just a scorer. Imagine when he starts shooting 3s & foul shots better. The most impactful frosh since the baby Boilers?

Does not have LBs assist game amoung other things...bit much
Loyer is getting >3 assists/game, but Larry Bird was truly gifted at passing.
