Eastern

DePaul is getting a new gym, supposed to be excellent, perhaps he wants to stay home and try to lead them from the abyss! I loved DePaul hoops in the late 70's, the national stage took all the great Chicago kids to other places.

So what happened to MSU? Are they out of room?? I thought the consensus was that he was going to sign with them.

Their new arena is not really theres and it is far, far away from the DePaul campus.

They really are a player for Eastern. He would be foolish to go there, though. There are reasons why DePaul is a finalist and MSU and others have dropped him.

Eastern prolly was tired of being a plan B for MSU. But Eastern is a great player. MP will be estatic if he chooses Purdue.

I heard he was going to Miami to play with D Wade and Chris Bosch. Sorry, wrong announcement.

As mentioned above, please elaborate.. I'm sensing that he dropped MSU and the others, not the other way around. The fact that it's down to us and DePaul, should give us more hope than if MSU was still involved.

Could be the shot-creator we've been looking for with his height.

Just when I thought.......

I saw a tweet somewhere that said the reason he cut out MSU is because he wants to play point and they are pretty well stocked up at that position.

I found the following quote from Andrew Erdman who covers MS......"it has seemed like Izzo and Co. have backed off of Eastern in the past month or so and instead have focused their attention on five-star forward Brian Bowen and five-star center Brandon McCoy."

It is also been rumored that Eastern and Bowen do not want to play with together. Not sure if it is because they play similar positions or it could be they don’t get along. Either way.....it strengthens our position.

I guess we will see tomorrow. Boiler up!

If that's been the case, for a month or so, wouldn't that information have been leaked to someone, somewhere? All along, up until THIS morning, we've been told that MSU has made Eastern a priority and is consistently pursuing him...

Something strange about this, with MSU involvement, but it raises Purdues chances, so I'll take it. Over-recruiting is happening before players are even signing at MSU... This mistake could hurt Izzo in the long-term on future recruits.. I doubt it, but I can be optimistic about things, right?

Also, who knows about this kid Ikechukwu Obiagu?

A 4* center from Georgia.. Are we still on his short-list? Everything I've seen, seems to point that we are? Seems like a nice target for Painter to strengthen the front court after Biggie or Haas leaves.

So is it better to over recruit a kid before he commits or allow him to sign then flunk him out of a double secret special summer program with no where to go at that point?

People cannot dismiss DePaul right now. Yes I'm a fan, but the fact is, he went on an official two weeks ago, and then this past weekend did an unofficial on campus, including going to their first game. This past unofficial wasn't needed, especially if his mind was made up.

I'll admit I was surprised he used Depaul for his 5th official visit. But with Justin Roberts from Pike already in the fold, I don't see Eastern going there IF what I've been told that he wants to play the point is accurate.

We have Roberts, but he will be our only true PG on our roster next year. We need more than that. And not sure Justin is ready to start from Day 1....although I know he'll contribute (love that kid). Nojel is 100% being sold on being the starting PG on opening night.

And I was told months ago that DePaul would 100% get an official. So not shocked it was one of his 5.

The first 247 Sports guy to flip to Purdue is......Jerry Meyer.

This is the kiss of death, right?
I don't know what to make of the predictions. Most haven't updated their Eastern prediction in like 6 months. Now one update and it is to Purdue.

DePaul...smh
I can't tell you what conference they're in..or if they're in one, or the last time I saw them on television.
Please Mr Eastern, we're dieing for an athletic guard here!

First, Eastern is not an "athletic guard", so no clue what you're talking about there.

Second, Big East.

Lastly, every game is on TV.

So osu is apparently off his list for sure then?
Thought I read where another PG target of theirs went to oregon
