Sebastian Williams Adams recruiting update

Auburn had guys fighting on flight to Houston. It was so bad piolet turned around 45 mins in and landed due to safety concerns.

Bruce Pearls team showing a ton of focus before a match up with #4 Houston.

Not a good look for what looks like toughest competition. At least if winning means anything to the kid.

Really weird story here. My first thought was couldn't they still go to Houston? How long a flight could that possibly be?

Well there’s plenty of examples on the team currently as examples of how freshmen can come in and contribute and even break into the starting lineup for him to look at. The argument that playing time might not be there at Purdue takes a hit. If he comes in ready and earns it, he’ll play!

“Williams-Adams previously told 247Sports that he will pick the school where he trusts the coaching staff the most.”

"I want to go to a school where I can trust the coaches for potentially the next four years," Williams-Adams said. "I obviously would not want to wait as long but things may happen. To know, that I would be wanted and valued my freshman year the same as my senior year means a ton."

He stated Auburn coaches in close communication but he also said winning is important and he likes the culture set up at Purdue . Has said he really enjoyed the OSU visit a lot. We’ll know in a week…

I believe Auburn turns over A LOT of guys after this year due to graduation and probably going pro. So not sure if they ll be set up to win next year—especially how they’re looking now (which is real good).

And OK State while they have Lutz as coach, they aren’t going to be that competitive in the top of the big 12. So if he wants to win and contend right away, Purdues his schools but he may and probably sees it differently 😂

agree on Auburn, it's the first one listed, don't let the "culture" comment sway you, Khamenia mentioned that too and didn't work out for Purdue
But also these kids usually want to play right away and while he’d be a great get, we don’t technically need him. Again, would be awesome if he chose Purdue…just he’d have to (more than likely) take a back seat his first year.

I think we are too guard heavy next year. Great problem to have, but it isn't going to be appealing to a kid in the top 40 in the country. JMO, I don't know anything else about his situation.

The following year after Smith and Loyer are gone would be a different situation for high ranking recruit.

He plays the 3/4 spot. But we are log jammed there too.

Today’s the day! He’d be a great addition but Auburn likely offers a clearer path to more immediate playing time with their turnover. Purdue offers the better team next year most likely because of the auburn turnover and loss of many experienced players.
I found this which offers some insight into who he is on and off the court, sounds very solid and like he fits the Purdue mentality.

Confused......thought he already was set to announce. Didn't hear anything - so thought he went elsewhere??

Reads like SW-A isn’t afraid of the challenge of competing for PT, like maybe some others have been. He doesn’t sound like he wants assurances of anything. Man, sound like he would be a very good fit and need position for CMP to get. I hope his decision works out for both.

I believe he’s announcing today. It would be a shock if he chose Purdue (he’s not coming here).
So the fat lady hasn’t sang even though there’s a few prognosticators giving Auburn the nod.
I’m going with the dumb and dumber approach of, so you’re saying there’s a chance? 😂🤣

I hope he commits to Purdue, but if he doesn’t I am very confident that Painter will find the right players for the program. Watching the freshmen on Friday and Jacobsen before he went down gives me a lot of confidence that coach continues to find the right young men for the program who want to be Boilermakers.

For sure. He’d be a great get but we don’t need to really pick anyone up for next year and we always have the portal to pick up someone if we really want to…technically 2.
