Eastern decision?

He isn't a peegs guy, he has been pro purdue in all of his posts that I have seen. You just acted like an idiot, and he did too. Just ignore the trolls like Kessel and Tom Coverdale. Why would anyone listen to a guy named after that idiotic IU piece of crap?!?!?

Not quite sure where I acted like an idiot, unless calling someone an idiot, is acting like an idiot?.. I'm not sure, it was your opinionated statement, and yours alone.

But the rest of your post...my point exactly... I have yet to see an IU fan named johnboilers, or anything close to it...

I've seen some posts where he's pro-Purdue, but have also seen numerous of those same post being sarcastic, and have seen pro-iu posts of his.

In this case, I'm judging the book by its' cover. You have to be a special kind of dumb to be a PU fan, yet name yourself hoosier.

Probably my bad. I didn't go back and read everything, but when you said "my bad, I will take the blame for this... getting caught up with a peegster" I assumed you started some back and forth that has led to this ridiculous thread. I apologize for misunderstanding.

Oh awesome still not talking about Eastern.

That guy is Matt whateverhisnameis from the main board. He had a meltdown after our loss to Little Rock and was banned. He probably thought using Hoosier in his name would get him last the mods. I think it worked too as he is here posting his wisdom quite often now.

He's our Snu. Annoying, but one of ours unfortunately.

If Eastern doesn't choose Purdue, I'll be disappointed, as often as he likes Purdue tweets.

I know it doesn't prove anything, though. I've watched enough of these to know that nothing is certain.

Johnhoosier joined 1-2015. We lost to Little Rock about 7 months ago. So...

I am still hopeful....depends on what Bowen does.....

Love to have him be part of the Boilermaker family but if not then 2018 we have some good candidates too.

I've not been one to dog this class a failure, but if we don't get Eastern it will be hard to see it anyway else. Eastern, Wheeler, and Haarms would be a solid class.

Um what about Ewing?......

I disagree but respect your opinion...with what we have coming back next year all starters I think Matt Painter did well..Haarms, Wheeler and Ewing are all athletic and have high ceilings.....Eastern is the sugar on top and agree would be great but I like the class already.

Blue collar kids ready to come in and work as a team!

Now 2018 if he doesn't bring in some high studs, then I would be concerned...he has 5 starters graduating can sell playing time for sure.

IMO, the thing is that, the three recruits we have right now are high ceiling guys, as you said, BUT... We've had our share of high ceiling guys fail miserably.. I personally think Wheeler and Haarms will help us, IDK much about Ewing, but with Eastern, you know damn well he's going to be playing big minutes as soon as he signs to a team. He's too talented NOT to play.

That's all, it would be nice to get a surefire rotational player stepping on campus, instead of 3 guys who may be something special, but also may be a bust... Again, I think we had a pretty good class, but Eastern would be pivotal for this team to keep contending for the NCAA Tournament and BT Title.

I agree, but I think Ewing will be the one to help most right away, he has the ability now.....especially if Biggie or V. Edwards go to NBA. (Actually wish he could play this year)

Haarms and Wheeler need time to bulk up...but will be great at Purdue.

If Eastern signs, then Ewing and Eastern play right away and Haarms does if Haas goes pro. Wheeler is my next J. Taylor a Taylor graduates in a couple years. Wheeler will be a stud.

I think Ewing's a wildcard. It's hard to get a read on him based on what I saw. Not dogging him or anything.

You said exactly I how I feel, just more coherently.

Just read that Trent picked Duke. That means MSU is clear for Eastern. Hope it doesn't go like that, but we don't win many recruiting battles against that guy.

So nice to actually see some Eastern talk in the Eastern thread...
Anyways, in the past few days/week I read people say that Bowen's decision (possibly MSU) could be important for Eastern and Purdue and I thought that Trent to Duke was a lock. Am I missing something here?

No it doesn't look good for Eastern because of this. But this is the chance you take when you go after the big boys. I know the three stooges that are c3p0, nadville and vilepoopster will be crying on here as usual but if any coach is going to take a program to the next level, then he has to go after the recruits the blue bloods are going after. So I'll take a miss for the bigger future and the slef-entilted negatwitts can keep crying and continue to set the program back from their lack of support.

It doesn't matter though, the second Painter doesn't go after an elite player they will be the first ones on here whining about it and saying it's worth the risk. Then only to complain when that recruit chooses duke or msu. It's kind a funny to watch them wallow in their own stupidity like that though.

Yes you are correct......IMO I think Bowen is the key domino that needs to fall.

If he picks MSU, then DePaul, OSU and Purdue have a chance with Purdue being the favorite in that race.

Boiler UP!

you missed Kendal Stephens, so that makes it 2-4. We didn't have a scholly to give to G-Rob 3, so I am not sure that counts. Harris was los by our administration not paying attention to past athletes. Nothing to do with Painter.
Painter was the very last offer to Harris, and the very last to get involved in his recruitment...so while there were other factors in play, to suggest that it had nothing to do with Painter is not at all accurate.

How did they not have a scholarship for GRIII? They did...they simply did not feel as though he was better than who they offered instead...it was not a case of not having a scholarship for him, they simply chose not to offer him...they may not have got him in the end anyway admittedly, but, it was not because they did not have a scholarship to offer him.

Next years starting lineup will most likely be

Isaac Haas
Vincent Edwards
Dakota Mathias
Carsen Edwards
PJ Thompson

With Basil, Taylor, and Ryan Cline coming off the bench.

That is almost assuredly a tournament team with little to no worry. The next season after that, though, is worrisome due to the lack of hitting instant impact recruits for this class.

I won't dispute this lineup, and as good as Dakota is, he has problems being a 3 in the B1G. That lineup also has some defensive challenges. I haven't studied the new guys a lot, but it seems that there is a good stretch 4 there. If it's the JUCO guy, maybe he can come in real early and focus on D. If this lineup gets us to late January, by then we should be able to develop a stronger 4 and move VE to 3.

Of course, Eastern changes most of this ... for the better.

It's hard to be too worried about '18-19, at this point. A lot will happen between now and then.

I see where you're going with that. In that scenario, DM would likely be playing out of position similar to DJ Byrd. I like all of those players a lot, but I agree that defensively, that unit could struggle. BS redshirting does help.
