Congrats to Purdue......but sad to say yeah....couple of bonehead moves by Painter. game never should have been close....leaving CS on the bench & keeping Haas down when he was unstoppable..... even my wife was like what the heck???
He coached 90% of a fantastic game. Yeah some mistakes, but overall a great game against a very good team.
I dunno Biggie seemed to have strong legs at the end.
I'll take the win, he no doubt sat Biggie too long and didn't start CE was a mistake too.
After 12 f'n years you would think he would have learned.They had no answer for Haas!!!!
I don't know if I can agree that it was wrong to start Cline when he made that 3 to start our offense off.
I will give Coach credit for the fact that they ran a play for Cline to get him going and he delivered that was good
I don't think I could of seen a worse second half. Biggie couldn't believe he sat so long, I couldnt, and the experts couldn't. Painter is a clown! He can't even let Biggie win games he tries to screw that up by sitting him. Also, what the hell did Carsen do to deserve to sit behind Cline at the end. CBoogie is so clutch.
They didn't need Haas in at the end. We would have been playing 5 on 3. Who could he have guarded?

He's got to quit overthinking it. You have the best player in the country. If he wants to stay in, let him stay in. And for those that think a zone is a bad D, it about beat us. Nice change up by their coach. I will give CMP credit though, he kept them calm down the stretch when it was needed.
It was an attempt to get him going and a good attempt I do not think Cline should start, but you cannot deny the fact that painter did run a play for him and it worked..... the problem was sitting Carson at the second half in the end playing Cline when Cline proved that he couldn't defend or score
Cboogie was 0 for 3 from the arc today. I love the guy, but I do believe our fans seem to have some false perception of him...
And look at the box score. Cline was a real contributor today.
Every pass Cline made in to Biggie scared the heck out of me. But Cline did have a nice steal down the stretch.
Zone only beats us when we take Biggie out or don't position Vince at the ft line. We won't get zoned often because we have the post setup to beat it every time. So I partially agree that Biggie should have been in but also a zone is not going to beat us.
Man you must be watching different games. CE is a stud. That steal and layup was huge. He can also take it to the hoop. Had a real nice and 1 tonight.
Glad you guys won. I don't know if I'll sleep tonight, though, I'm still so angry at Painter for sitting Swanigan. Swanigan was ready to literally throw them the f' out of the building. He was so fired up. So Painter's response was to sit him at that moment? I swear it was like trying to give money back to a bank.
Yep the only big they were playing was Burton and Biggie was having his own issues with him.
Hoping you are a troll because your assessment is absurd. Boilers had great game plan and executed it and beat a team that I'm guessing you were predicting would win. Throughout this game it was ridiculously obvious which team was better coached and iowa state hit a bunch of crazy shots in that stretch to come back but again better coaching prevailed down the final stretch as Purdue worked its offense and Iowa state played 1 on 1 basketball -- look at assists in this game - lopsidedly shows Purdue actually has an offense while iowa state plays as individuals--- not even close who did a better job coaching - - congrats to Matt and the team
27 assists on 31 made baskets. That is great team play and great coaching. The OP doesn't have a clue.
He was completely winded. Players never think they are but it was pretty obvious he was.
Biggie was playing terrible defense. That's the fact. We all knew ISU was making a run. I fail to believe Biggie would've prevented it. But who cares? This team is tougher than a suspect substitution pattern.
Except you forget that he not afraid to drive to the hole either scoring or drawing fouls giving us another dimension lacking with Cline.
I agree, I think he played really well. But it seems like our fan base likes to make him out to be some god. He misses shots sometimes (a lot actually), and he makes mistakes. He got beat a few times on D at the end of tonight's game when he shouldn't have, especially since he was not in foul trouble. Again, I like him a lot, and think he played a great game, but he is not as perfect as it seems like some here like to make it out to seem.
Anybody else think that first 3 by Morris that started or continued the run was actually a 2 but never heard talk about it being reviewed? Was streaming so unable to watch the play over.
Lol at this thread. I shall comment. We won and this win also has to do with the head coaches game plan. Which worked out great. We limited Morris and defended the 3 well. Where we were caught was missing wide open shot. Unfortunately you cannot plan for that.
Without question this would have been on Painter for keeping Swanigan out so long to give Iowa State the momentum. I think it was an error on his part and could have been a disastrous but they made enough plays down the stretch to stave off the comeback.
We have a lot of idiots in the online portion of this fanbase. Keep fighting the good fight, but I am done wasting my time with them.
He's head and shoulders better than Cline and should be in the game at the end.
