Does Purdue have a ping pong team?

Don't give Burke any ideas. He would like to add another minor sport. He's all for any sport that attracts less than 50 spectators per contest. Think of the building he can come up with to house ping pong.

i like our odds if we do.

I played in college, but not on the team. Ping pong/table tennis is one of the sports, that's as much fun to play, as watch. I can watch great ping pong matches on tv, then it makes me want to go right out & play some. The key is in the serve, & return volley. You can seperate the average players from the better/exceptional players, by their serves, & return vollies, very quickly. The return volley on a great/exceptional serve, is like a chess match. The server puts a wicked right spin on the ball, you must counter it with an equeal & opposite reaction of left spin. The game is somewhat like a super fast chess match, with all the english/spins, torque, & speeds involved. Great to watch, & even better to play, at any age. The serves & slams are the most interesting aspects of the game.

I bet it will have a snazzy beer garden!

We could fit a hell of a lot of ping pong tables in there, replace the PAT with carpet, & charge admission? I Hope we win at least 1 B1G game this season, but doubt it. If we beat IU, it would be a nice going away present for the team, fans & university, from Hazell.

You cannot "volley" in ping pong/table tennis...should you volley, your opponent will be awarded the point accordingly. I thus characterize your story of playing ping pong/table tennis in college as false.
