He is moving very well! Good to see he’s recovering (recovered?) well!Interesting, but really no reason he shouldn't be at least practicing if he's healthy.

Seems like he'd have a case for a medical reshirt even if he does play in the NCAA.
I'm sure a lot of us could help him with that, but not in a good way.Looks like he has put on a tad bit of weight.. not a lot, but still good to see.
Isn’t it 8 games or less for a medical redshirt?He/Purdue would absolutely not be able to apply for a medical hardship waiver if he plays again this season. Painter has said repeatedly he's not playing again this season, and I would have to think these are progressive instances for him to work his way back into game shape, but he's not ramped up or going anywhere need competitive pace and also isn't medically cleared to do that.
Also, my understanding of the rules (which could certainly be wrong) would require Purdue and him to provide contemporaneous medical documentation that this was a season-ending injury preventing him from competing. IF he's healthy enough to compete, even if he doesn't compete, that would suggest Purdue couldn't apply for the eligibility waiver. I've not really seen a scenario come up before concerning the season-ending aspect, and I'm not speculating that it's relevant here. Usually, schools look for an exemption/exception based upon the time already played being close to or above the limit. That's not the case here, as DJ only played two games into the season.
Regardless, it's indeed very good to see DJ out on the court and progessing with his rehab. From the naked eye, the healing process seems to have gone well without any further complications. You'd have to think he's hungry for next year and will make a contribution on both ends of the floor.
That would be great but I think the rule is based linearly from beginning to end. Meaning it’s only applicable on a go forward basis rather than applying the game rule in the reverse.Isn’t it 8 games or less for a medical redshirt?
Luke Goode is trying to petition the NCAA that since he only played in 10 games his sophomore year, that he should get a year back. He had surgery in October and came back at the end of the year.
So…there’s a max of 6 games left. Maybe we have DJ play and then sue the NCAA and win the case since they just bow down instantly 😂
If Goode gets a year back then DJ could too. Don’t think paint is gonna let it happen but it’d be wild if it did hahaThat would be great but I think the rule is based linearly from beginning to end. He's not going to play but I'm not sure your statement above is true at this point. Goode is applying for another year after playing all of his games in the back half of the season. I could be wrong but it doesn't seem cut and dried.He/Purdue would absolutely not be able to apply for a medical hardship waiver if he plays again this season.

I"m sure his parents would have a say in it tooI think folks underestimate game conditioning and the impact of changing roles last second
Oh absolutely. I’m sure if he ever did play, it’d be in 2 min increments max. (And I know he’s not playing)I think folks underestimate game conditioning and the impact of changing roles last second
Send him down here to St. Augustine...I will get him up to treefitty in no time.I'm sure a lot of us could help him with that, but not in a good way.
