Did CJB tell Tennessee to pound sand?

And the rest were hoops coaches. WAY different. Less heavy lifting to turn around a program.

I would disagree. I'm over 60. you should see some of my posts when I was under 40. they're in the archives. Coming to a new forum, I'm a lot better than I once was. I used to be an idiot and also very disliked. now I'm just..........

perhaps, not enough examples were provided. how about Steve Spurrier and Lou Holtz? Didn't they both accept new football coaching jobs over the age of 60? How old was Dan Devine when he accepted the ND job? he sure looked old.

The NFL is filled with a lot of old coaches, and many of them keep getting new offers.

here's a link that says old coaches never die. they just get old. and there are many young coaches that when accepting new jobs become even worse. ........ H A z ......e.....l.........l..

I think he needs to make a public statement that he is committed to Purdue and is not leaving for Tennessee. If nothing else - to reassure recruits.
He makes one public statement, then people will expect a public statement every time his name is whispered on the internet. Best just to keep your head down and keep working. Talk to your players. Recruits know how to get ahold of him, I'm sure. Relax, this will be sorted out soon.

FROM FOOTBALLSCOOP.COM:

The Tennessee head coaching search is centering on Purdue’s Jeff Brohm, sources told FootballScoop Wednesday.

He was mentioned as a candidate in FootballScoop’s first look at the Tennessee job back on Nov. 14.

Brohm recently completed his first regular season at Purdue, taking the Boilers to their first bowl game since 2012. His buyout at Purdue stands at $5.9 million as of today, but it moves down next week and gets complicated from there.

Prior to that, Brohm compiled a 30-10 mark in three seasons at Western Kentucky. He led the Hilltoppers to Conference USA championships in 2014 and ’15.

Saturdays Down South makes it sound like a deal is imminent.

Man this would be twice that Tennessee got us. Oh well. Move on and we will figure something else out.

You forgot one huge name.....Saban who is 64 and has been at other schools.

Solich at Ohio is 72.

Start from square one.

1. Kevin Sumlin (doubt he was really targeted at all)
2. Mike Norvell
3. Dino Babers

Those would be my top 3 in an initial search.
With Sumlin out there that would make sense. I keep forgetting he is on the market. I think he would be a Brohm quality. Plus with Texas A & M giving him $10 million, money will not be as important.
