Defensive matchup against Illini

Who’s guarding who for the Boilers? Do you go:
Edey on Guerrier
TKR/Furst/Gillis on Hawkins
Jones on Demask ? (Invitation for backdown/postup)?
Smith on ? Goode/Harmon
Loyer on ? Rodgers

Tough individual matchups with their players. Harmon biggest outside threat might want jones on him but then would need to change Smith to Rodgers and Loyer on Domask because of height.

Curious to see how Painter chooses to guard them with their length?

No way Loyer guards Domask IMO. I think Jones defends him.

Loyer on Goode
Jones on Domask
TKR on Guerrier
Edey on Hawkins

The goal is to get Guerrier or Hawkins in foul trouble so they go to Dainja, who Edey matches up much better with. Either way, they've got some mismatches they can try to exploit.

I'm hoping Heide plays well because we could use his size and athleticism in a game like this.

It’s interesting that Domask is shooting 20% from 3 (12-58). They don’t have a true PG it seems And did not realize Ty Rodgers is 0-1 in 46 games from 3. Harmon seems to be benefitting from TSJ being out.

Kinda mismatches all over on both sides. Will be interesting to see if they have Coleman on edey or maybe they double him every time?

Saw some article stating our guards may have trouble with the length of their guards but our backcourt has faced similar height in the backcourt from other P6 teams.
