I'm most shocked that anyone actually listens to DD. I would rather put up with the idiocy of Dan Le Batard than DD, and I don't like Le Batard either.

I agree with you 100%, however, days like today it is actually fun to listen to DD.
DD and Seth Davis are glorified talking heads......one was an ok basketball player but went to IU so lost all credibility and is also from The Region (which is good) but now is an egotistical idiot and thinks his shit doesn't stink....the other is the same but never played basketball and is a Duke grad with a pen......
Both are deadly, one with the mouth and the other with the pen......don't empower them...ignore them IMO!

LeBatard is an idiot. At least DD talks about sports. LeBatard just has a dog and pony show of irrational BS and stupidity every day. Glad they moved him to mornings so I don't have to listen to his crap on the way home but the racist Bomonte Jones is worse.

i like listening to DD announced games. he's got good analysis i feel and can be critical when teams/coaches deserve it. him and bilas i like the most but i've heard from plenty that they dislike them most. meh.

He does a pretty good job announcing games. His radio show (and HUGE ego) is unbearable.
I've not listened to his actual radio broadcast, and my only information on that is through this forum and past links to excerpts/podcasts in the past. However, I do generally like his TV games, and he has also been fairly complimentary of CMP and Purdue.....even during the recent down years. He knows his stuff, but he will have a tendency to ramble into stories or provide too much information about local or high school knowledge. For those familiar with the Indiana landscape and high school basketball, that's fine, but the rest of the audience might be wondering, what the hell is he talking about.
He has a pretty good working relationship with Tirico @ ESPN, which works fairly well except when they start joking around too much and forget about calling the game.
I generally like Bilas too, although he will also go into tangents during the broadcast.....not that there is anything wrong with that, but Jay has a tendency sometimes to be too much of an advocate for a position for his own good.....I'm maybe splitting hairs with that one. I just hope he doesn't fall the way of some others who started out really good and then fell in love with the press clippings and became a caricature of themselves.

Many good points. I like Bilas too, but fear he is starting to feel his oats a little bit. He gets on his soapbox more often now and goes over the top. Overall I still like him and he is better than many that they have at ESPN.
I haven't listend to DD in years (I too find him arrogant and mostly annoying) but I tuned in today for the explicit reason of hearing his reaction, which was everything I expected it to be. You know deep down he'd love to have a coach like Painter at his beloved IU. Though he didn't go off so much directly on Crean, he bashed the bad-defense-for-years thing and THAT is all Crean. DD is no fan of Crean, make no mistake.
I am a big fan of Crean... staying at IU as long as possible

benefits of not being in the ESPN INDY area i guess. my car listening isn't usually ever sports talk anyway though... npr or podcasts for this gentle soul
