ESPN's bracket has Purdue as the No. 9 seed, playing 8 California for the right to (likely) face top-seed UConn in Storrs. The Boilermakers did that a decade (or so) ago when they beat Kansas State then lost to the Huskies in Round 2.
I'm a little surprised that Purdue's win didn't get it off the "last four in" line, per Creme's thinking, but that's probably a result of the strength (or lack of) of the Big Ten.
