Cline suspension expanded to six games

I'm betting money that extra terrestrials were involved........happens all the time. Let's not ride Ryan out of town just yet.

This has turned into speculation city on here, wow. Bad mistake on his part.......so be it, let him learn and move on. Situation is being handled. I absolutely love the kid, and believe he could have a few game winning shots this season, so I am pulling for him.

I don't know... Did you ever see Reefer Madness? That stuff makes you a sex crazed, evil, disguising, criminal like , low life, zombish....with bad breath. Hey wait that's me except my breath is minty fresh.

Let's give him a second chance after he pays his dues.

Amen.

I was at Cline's first Purdue game last year and the fan base absolutely loved him at that game! Local boy does good; he was getting the loudest cheers on the team, at least from where I was sitting! I hope he learns from this, but I am concerned! There are a ton of red flags already... I mean 9:53 on a Monday morning and you're this wiped out still? You already have a storage container for your weed? That doesn't sound like a first time event. The whole potential DUI thing. The fact that he was not forthcoming with Painter apparently. You call yourself an athlete and you do this? ...Really? I just hope he doesn't turn into a Johnny Manziel loser-type! If he makes a complete turn around and makes amends, I will support him 100 percent. I just hate to see a kid, especially a Purdue kid throw his college career and possibly professional career away, doing stupid stuff.
Come-on Man!

It was even earlier than that (late June).

Cline has a lot of work to do if he's going to get back in the coaching staff's good graces.

My sense is that, whatever the real story is, Painter is pissed. Ryan is going to have to keep his head down, work his ass off, keep his mouth shut and wait for his next opportunity. Unfortunately for him, the guy who benefits the most from this, from a PT standpoint, is Carsen. So his next opportunity might take a while.

Good point. If Carsen is as good as we hope he is, it will take an effort on Cline's part to make it back. I think he can do it, but he really is gonna have to earn it.

Time for a "nut check" as it were for him.

Another thought on Cline. This happened not long before their trip to Spain. Do you think that he didn't tell anyone about it so he could go on that trip?

He wasn't technically Operating the vehicle, he was sitting in it.

Deferment for first offenses is extremely common. Esp simple possession. I deal with kids like this all the time.

Anything else you'd like to blow out of proportion??
Technically speaking, discussed with a few lawyer friends he could have been charged OWI. Foot on the pedal in a running car can be prosecuted whether you have it gear or not. He is VERY lucky. Probably has no other scrapes otherwise this might be a different scenario.

Yeah I know, and like I said RE more serious charges;

"At least, none that a somewhat capable attorney couldn't fight off with one hand tied behind his back."

An OWI charge would have been fought, and beat.

And yes, he is very very very VERY VERY!!! lucky. That's not up for debate. Had he actually been driving, etc, he would have been COOKED.

Can we sect this any more? I think it is straight forward. Cline screwed up, and is now living in the results.
