Carson Barrett, 6-4, Lafayette CC. First game against Frankfort, 19 points, 13 rebounds, 7 assists. As a frosh, 10.3 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 4.5 apg. I don't know if coaches are watching him, but many here will recognize the last name.
Game might be cool then with Tayson Parker in the house vs this guy from Laf. Central Catholic (Jan 2)
How is the Gillis kid at New Castle looking this year
6'7-8" Junior
I'm from New Castle. The kid is pretty good. I think he may need to grow an inch or two to be a factor on a Big 10 team. I see him as more of a 4 than a 3 in college. Definitely one to keep an eye on.How is the Gillis kid at New Castle looking this year

I’ll ask some coaches I know to give me their opinion tomorrow and let you know.Carson Barrett, 6-4, Lafayette CC. First game against Frankfort, 19 points, 13 rebounds, 7 assists. Barrett is a good player but most agree he would be a good D2 player. CC lacks overall talent this season and will rely on him to score and do more, thus inflating his stats a bit. Although his dad played at Purdue, Carson isn't as good as his dad was. MIGHT be able to improve enough for a place like ISU but that would be a stretch in many people's eyes.Great! We'll know more tomorrow!
totally agreed, although I haven't seen him this year.Barrett is a good player but most agree he would be a good D2 player. Thanks JDB. I assume people believe he's done growing. As a sophomore, he's listed height is 4 inches taller than his dad.Barrett is a good player but most agree he would be a good D2 player. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a good D2 player. Still get a scholarship and still able to get a great education. A great local product but one that likely isn't quite the level to play at the D1 level. If he feels he is, a JUCO would be a great route to show what he is capable of doing. Thanks JDB. I absolutely agree, but I'm curious about the other stuff. I'm always interested in hearing how legacy kids are doing. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a good D2 player.
