I think he comes to purdue think about it one of the best point guards in the country just saying

putting yourself on the do not contact list could also mean you only want communication through your agent. Not sure that’s the case here but it’s not always that they have somewhere lined up

Reading this thread gives new meaning to when painter says I wish him well when players left.
I recall a couple of times when painter was probably furious with a player leaving. He probably could have said a lot more. But all he said was I wish him well.

For sure. 100% a coach who understands the culture he is running and what type of person who will F it up. One thing I really loved about Painter going public with his comments was it was him essentially telling future recruits to not waste his time if that's they way they are. Wish you well elsewhere but Purdue isn't the place for you. He's brutally honest when it comes to the way he communicates with players.
Painter isn’t that desperate so I say 0% chance. Heck I don’t think Painter even picks up the phone if Catchings people came calling.
Haha correct. I just posted it because a majority of us all knew this was coming.
I’m calling it now. This time next year, Catchings will be playing for some g league or ballers league or European league by this time next year. He may commit to some new school But when the season starts he won’t be playing for them. Unless it’s IU.
This brings up another question. How many of these players that enter the portal actually finish the semester at their old school? Or do they just say f this semester and enroll immediately at their new school? This would be another reason for the portal to open after the semester is over, rather than during spring break with 1/2 of a semester left.

My understanding is that enrollment is still as it always has been......at the beginning of semesters - also, for credits to transfer with almost every institution I know of - you have to actually complete the course work.
I know you don’t want to hear this. I have no idea to the truthfulness . But some fool on facebook posted today that Catchings was in town visiting Purdue this week . This was the same fool that said a couple of weeks ago that a couple of players had talked to painter before the tournament about entering the portal and that painter would keep it private until after the tournament was over.
My guess is Catchings was probably just in town visiting with friends on his way to a different college in Indiana or Illinois.
I personally believe that ship has sailed. But maybe his guardian got involved. Or maybe he came to ask Painter for advice. I don’t know what their current relationship is. I have to imagine Painter was not pleased with the way Catchings decided to leave.
