I can't see this happening knowing he'll have Tucker in front of him. If he did that would be a stab in Sisley's back.Prob goin to IU
Maybe, somewhere else in the B1G.

Does his mom know Nojel’s mom?Yes - KC's mother, Tauja, played at Illinois, and his aunt, Tamika, starred at Tennessee under Pat Summitt.
His grandfather, and father to Tauja and Tamika, was Harvey Catchings - who this old dinosaur remembers watching play for the 76'ers back in the Blazermania NBA Finals in 1977......then with the Bucks in the 80's.
One of less than 50 NBA players in history to have a game with double-digit blocks.
With their current "roster" he could literally start at all 5 positions.A total shocker! My guess is IU because he could get his guaranteed playing time.
Facebook on the whole is not as astute as this forum and the other one that split. That doesn’t mean there are not people there that don't know the basketball circumstances, but that you just have a wider audience possible that are not as knowledgeable. Also, some of those people are in this site and the one that split, no doubt. Here is where I might venture away from many on the Purdue sites and it is only because I saw him and saw the potential.I know you don’t want to hear this. I have no idea to the truthfulness . But some fool on facebook posted today that Catchings was in town visiting Purdue this week . This was the same fool that said a couple of weeks ago that a couple of players had talked to painter before the tournament about entering the portal and that painter would keep it private until after the tournament was over.
My guess is Catchings was probably just in town visiting with friends on his way to a different college in Indiana or Illinois.
I personally believe that ship has sailed. But maybe his guardian got involved. Or maybe he came to ask Painter for advice. I don’t know what their current relationship is. I have to imagine Painter was not pleased with the way Catchings decided to leave.
I read a couple of times that painter talked to eastern a couple of times after he left trying to provide him some advice.
Gf goes to PurdueI’m just saying some one saw him in town. Visiting.
Haha more of a joke tbhI can't see this happening knowing he'll have Tucker in front of him. If he did that would be a stab in Sisley's back.

If I were Kanon, my thought would be to play for a g league team. there were several g league players that were first round NBA picks this past year. and That's his real dream. his real dream is not to help purdue win a championship or get a Purdue degree. his real dream is to make money and play in the Nba.Facebook on the whole is not as astute as this forum and the other one that split. If I were Matt I would listen if he were interested. I would make it understood that he will be given the opportunity to produce, but if players on the whole see an attitude or any of the coaches, he is off the team and void of any further sharing of money. I would make it tough enough to see if he is willing to turn the page and take a chance on himself. I would not jeopardize the team culture for him, but after a year at BYU did he learn or is he just wanting to start over without any self-reflection? If he had Braden or Fletch’s mindset he would be a monster. That said I really have no idea if it were out he was interested in Purdue what Matt would do. I’m sure Matt would take a hard line with him with a show me …don’t tell me approach that could be nipped in the bud immediately. Now, if you were Kanon…do you bet on yourself or do you go some other place with guarantees
Gotcha.Haha more of a joke tbh

We have a greater chance of playing zone for an entire game next year than Painter taking that phone call.Painter isn’t that desperate so I say 0% chance. Heck I don’t think Painter even picks up the phone if Catchings people came calling.
Painter would take the call but would tell him “message is the same as it was last time we spoke”.We have a greater chance of playing zone for an entire game next year than Painter taking that phone call.
I have respect for Painter. I have to believe if Catchings contacted him, he would take the call. I would also believe painter would be honest with him. Catchings had an opportunity to play at Purdue. Purdue and painter have moved on. I also believe if painter did meet with Catchings , he would follow all ncaa recruiting rules. We have a greater chance of playing zone for an entire game next year than Painter taking that phone call.
While I would say, I doubt it happens, I do have great trust in CMP in judging character. He offered Catching & Catchings accepted once, so CMP must have liked something about him. If Catching realized he made a mistake & convinces CMP he's willing to play whatever role is needed & is willing to compete for playing time, I would welcome him back. I don't think he ever bad mouthed Purdue or CMP when he left, so if CMP was good with it, then we all should be. The kid obviously liked Purdue or he wouldn't have chosen us to begin with.I know you don’t want to hear this. I have no idea to the truthfulness . many coaches are more than just coaches in the sport. Flory's recruiting was different than Kanon and Perry. What I understand is some handlers directed him to Kansas. I have never heard anything, but how great a kid Flory is. I personally watched him block a shot that ended up hitting a man in the bleachers in the end line asking him if he was okay as the game was still going on. Basketball was new to him and he didn't know the lay of the land like most players. Totally different than Cluff, but both relatively new to basketball..If I were Kanon, my thought would be to play for a g league team. there were several g league players that were first round NBA picks this past year. and That's his real dream. his real dream is not to help purdue win a championship or get a Purdue degree. his real dream is to make money and play in the Nba.
with the amount of players Purdue has playing in different pro leagues, I would believe painter would be an excellent person to turn to for advice. if Catchings was really visiting, i suspect it was only to ask for advice.
as a fan, I have to ask if somebody like flory or catchings or Perry had buyers remorse and wanted to come back, would i want them to come back ? I know coaches build relationships with players as part of the recruiting process. I just don't know how close of a relationship that was between Catchings and Painter. My son had a very close relationship with SIU basketball coach Rich Herrin. He was the grandfather my son never had. My son ended up going to SIU but for track , not basketball. Coach Herrin was so much more than just a coach.
Yeah I have no idea if Kanon has interest, but I could see Matt listening and then placing some heavy demands with consequences on him to see what price Kanon is willing to do "IF" Matt thought it might work. Matt knows he was not mature and that was the issue, not that he was a bad kid whose selfish interests were above the team. Matt isn't going to change from any of his concerns previously, but could make some demands and consequences as an insurance policy...While I would say, I doubt it happens, I do have great trust in CMP in judging character. careful...you do realize Matt has played a 2-3 zone for a few games in the past .We have a greater chance of playing zone for an entire game next year than Painter taking that phone call.
Couldn't agree more. Some family blames his previous agent.Yeah I have no idea if Kanon has interest, but I could see Matt listening and then placing some heavy demands with consequences on him to see what price Kanon is willing to do "IF" Matt thought it might work. I agree that I don't want him, the ship has sailed. However, with Colvin, Berg, Waddell and two new scholarships, we have FOUR open spots. Chances are we take a flyer on somebody, we're going to have more spots that holes. If Painter determines he's worth a flyer on him, I don't think the "next year is not the year" will sway him much. Please, no! We have a chance for a special season next year. Go get players with proven D1 results. Next year is not the year to take a flyer on a player like Catchings.
Wasn’t aware of the background on how far that relationships goes - so thank you.He started attending Painters BB camps at age 7 or 8. To the best of my knowledge, Painter has a good relationship with Kanon and the Catching clan. IMO, he needs someone to tell him the truth daily. The last two years have been filled with lies and agent interference. He needs to man up and take control of his life and have an extra slice of humble pie. I could see him at Purdue even though it would be risky for both parties.
If, Paint took him back would people really be upset. Many on here didn't believe Colvin would leave because of the family tradition here at Purdue.Wasn’t aware of the background on how far that relationships goes - so thank you.
Honestly, if he and his family called Painter, you know Painter would hear him out. I think he would give him solid feedback and advice. Not sure Painter would offer him a chance since he got burned before.
I wouldn’t be upset but I look at this as the new way of business. I think he would be an asset but not sure he is getting promised minutes. If, Paint took him back would people really be upset. Many on here didn't believe Colvin would leave because of the family tradition here at Purdue.

Agree. That's not CMP's style. You better MOVE in order to get playing time around here.He wouldn’t
