Carsen Edwards update

Score off the dribble? Wow, that would be most welcomed. We've had a few 3 star guys that played above their ranking (Kramer comes instantly to mind) and several that never belonged in the B1G (mainly big men). Hopefully Edwards continues to exceed expectations.

Translation of the Bossi piece: He's been a solid 4-star all year and they're just now realizing it.

Glad to see Carsen getting the deserved attention, but there's no way the kid is a 3-star given his accomplishments. Looking forward to seeing him wear Old Gold & Black!

Wasn't Rob rated on the mid 70,s? Kramer was rated in the 400,s. He may have been a three star football recruit.

4 stars? Good! I really rely on the experts to tell me how good our recruits are, just like how they tell us we should rank #18 all year along.

RH was in the 70's or 80ish I believe. Kramer could've been a 2 star, I just know he was low but was determined to be a very good player. Most 3 star players under Painter have been bad(Tacos, Bade, Lawson, Hale, etc.) so I am certainly rooting for Edwards to buck that trend. Sounds like he has every opportunity.

Three stars can be excellent players:

Other good 3 start players under Painter: Barlow, Ryan Smith, Lewjack, Mathias, Vince Edwards, Cline, PJ
Serious three stars @ Wisconsin: Kaminsky, Uthoff (transferred to IA), Nigel Hayes (1st team BIG), Vitto Brown, Happ

And don't forget Trey Burke and Chris Levert @ Michigan as 3 star studs!

And steph curry,
Have to love recruit rankings

The key to this kid is his attitude. He indicated "they are blessed to still be playing". Clearly he is talented but it is equally important that he will be a team player.

Look at what happens to IU every year when they get into a high pressure game. Their big time recruits resort to selfish basketball with no defense, and they fall apart. Crean is one of Purdue's greatest basketball assets.

And I see that he comes from Humble, TX. Nice.

Yeah, obviously it's not a hard rule, but it's a pretty good guide. A much higher percentage of 4 star guys are high level contributors vs. 3 star, or 5 vs 4. Always exceptions. We've had some decent 3 stars but no studs like Burke or Kaminsky. Hopefully Edwards changes that.

Looks like Carsen's team lost the final. He led scoring with 20 but didn't seem to get much help. Hell of a HS career. Now he can watch his Boilers run!
