Butler v. Purdue Game Thread

Not arguing, but the officiating was interesting............especially when PU got the calls it wasn't late, late in the second half

Like I said, it'd be one thing if we showed up, played hard, played our game, etc. and there was bad officiating. But we lost this game on our own. This wasn't a game lost by refs one bit.

Joshua: Greetings, Professor Falken.

Stephen Falken: Hello, Joshua.

Joshua: A strange game. The only winning move is not to play. How about a nice game of chess?

Seriously, it was a nice comeback but too little, too late. We are still good; just a stumble.

I still believe!

ha, nice Wargames ref. How's about a lovely lil game of Thermonuclear War to mello out after that one?

Tuesday's game is going to be big. Need to take MUCH better care of the ball.

Turnovers were a killer but several of those "turnovers" were created by uncalled fouls. Like a few posters have said, it is more than coincidence that when some of that "great Butler defense" started getting called as fouls, Purdue was right back in it.

Come on, PU got a few calls they didn't get all game........and miraculously the game gets closer, and the confidence comes back. The TO's were horrible, I agree.

how can you honestly say this when they take baskets from aj and give butler baskets on clearly WRONG calls? you are insane

Sorry you guys!!! We lost this game solely because of the refs. If we had unbiased refs, which we have never had in a Purdue basketball loss, we would have won!!! We played so great!

Wow, you've seen the light. We knew we could change you:):):) We've worn you down to normality. A monumental moment.

I'll save this date and bring it up often:)

Hell, we can only learn from this game...I hope.

In all seriousness, the TO's did kill PU........Ibodel is correct. My point is PU never adjusted to the shitty officiating, and that cost them the game in most of the game. When a few calls actually went PU way, the game got a lot tighter. TO's you can't argue with, but neither can you argue the calls IMO. We will bounce back!

Yep, plus I'm still concerned that too many people did not step up for this game. That is bothersome. We've had a lot of contributors in previous games but not today. Hopefully it's a one game stumble against a good team.

As I said before, I still believe!

Face punched, and it surprised PU......early too. PU will learn from this, but I still hate the inconsistency of the officials LOL. There, I'm done.

We played soft and like crap (sans Caleb). The refs sucked. Both true statements. Is everyone happy now?

I hate to say it, but if a team is going to get physical with Isaac and bring a little guy down to double and swipe at him from the get go, he may just need to go ahead and give them a little something to remember him by. I'm not talking elbow to head or anything dirty, but a Haas elbow into the chest might be worth the offensive foul. I feel like Butler being the more physical aggressor set the tone early and gave them all the confidence they needed to compete on the inside. With our bigs we must be the alpha dog in the paint in every game and tonight we were not. Just look at the offensive rebounding stats.
