I think with Claude getting into foul trouble helped secure this victory. He had his way while on the court.
Trey's pass was not meant to dunk in one motion, but Myles tried to dunk it. great idea by Trey, but he needed it to be up beside the rim!Really was encouraged by Colvins aggressiveness on offense. Didnt hit as many as he liked, but to him making moves around his man was nice. Not sure what's up with all the missed dunks from him though.
they were playing 4 to 5 behind the arc to force more individual D. Part of the help D increased towards the lane has some players watching the ball too much. My bigger concern was how tight Purdue was. Before the game they had a picture of fletch and his look of seriousness seemed to be that of concern or pressure. That thought could be completely wrong though. I look for a better game todayPainter was right to stay confident with Heide as he weathered his shooting slump. Purdue needs his shooting threat out there. Offensively, Heide, Colvin, and Cox are providing enough to allow the Big 3 to excel. I would like to see Furst get back to being the inside scoring threat that he was earlier in the year, but overall I am not worried about Purdue’s ability to score.
On the defensive end, teams like USC with their athleticism and talented 1 on 1 scorers are going to be tough for Purdue to match up with, but if they can do a little better on the defensive boards, it will go a long ways. Again, it was nice to see Heide step up down the stretch, probably the difference in the game.
I think they’ll be looser today. Pressure off from the first game and now they are the “underdog” based on seeding…even tho they are favored by 2.5 today 😂they were playing 4 to 5 behind the arc to force more individual D. We will need a lot more out of Furst in the match-up. I do believe we are the better team, but it hasn't shown lately.I think they’ll be looser today. Pressure off from the first game and now they are the “underdog” based on seeding…even tho they are favored by 2.5 today 😂
Go beat Michigan. Purdue is the better team. Wonder how May will have his guys guard Braden.
You are correct about DJ....thank you. I shouldn't post so late at night.DJ* and not sure DJ fits your description of “men”. This team will all be a year older next year. They’ll grow up no doubt.

Furst is still an issueIf cam and Myles can do that in the tourney, we will be a tough out.
all fanbases have em,, it's OK to be critical but some statements are way over the edgeWhy do all the POSs come out of the woodwork for the game threads?

very , very fortunate to win that game. Missed FT's, weird shot TKR took at the end, and Smith's missed layupI think with Claude getting into foul trouble helped secure this victory. He had his way while on the court.
What was that fadeaway from TKR?!? That had to be the first time he’s ever done that hahavery , very fortunate to win that game. Missed FT's, weird shot TKR took at the end, and Smith's missed layup
yea, it was terrible, I thought the damn thing was going to go the bankboard, once again it looked like Trey was trying to draw the attention of the Refs w. that but they are not going to call that in that situationWhat was that fadeaway from TKR?!? It hit the top of the backboard 😂yea, it was terrible, I thought the damn thing was going to go the bankboard, once again it looked like Trey was trying to draw the attention of the Refs w. that but they are not going to call that in that situation
Agree, no point in arguing with you if you don’t understand what you’re watching..Haha oh I know. Don’t see the point in arguing with you
Fletch is the glue guy. He scores in double figures about, if not, every game. Without him, this is a team with a lot of losses. Maybe it's a result of being on the team with TKR and Smith, but I think he'd be the same somewhere else.It was a good response and finish by the guys. Heide had his best game all year and Colvin played well too. Braden had a bad shooting night, but fletch and TKR picked him up on that side. But he was very good facilitating. Gotta somehow get our defense better and stop all the damn ball watching that allows teams to back cut so much! 😂
I typed during the game last night that I would like to see Purdue run a few times without the high screen so that players can't double Braden...especially last night when USC had their main players in some fouls difficulties. Not sure I would set in a 1-4 low (or across the baseline ) unless the best set was to pull all the help away from Braden. Maybe two across FT line and the other two in corners and maybe run some screens with the wings some and get Cam/Myles coming off a screen for a single dribble and dunk if not defended well. Anyway, I'd like to see that since Purdue doesn't clear out except for Trey. Not sure Michigan has the bigs with enough quickness to double well against Purdue. Now Wisconsin did a great job with their 7 ' player (Winter) doubling off the high screen and forcing Braden out farther than most teams...I think they’ll be looser today. Pressure off from the first game and now they are the “underdog” based on seeding…even tho they are favored by 2.5 today 😂

I think Wisconsin was better at it because Winters is pretty quick for 7 feet tall if this is in reference to the doubling Braden off the high ball screensimilar to what Wisky did to us
Exactly. I’ve seen how you overreact so I can tell all I need to know about your understanding.Agree, no point in arguing with you if you don’t understand what you’re watching..
And I’ve seen that you live on this board 24/7 and are an insufferable wannabe know-it-all, so that tells me all I need to know about your level of knowledge. Notice how the only engagement we have is when you start it. I typically avoid you.Exactly. I’ve seen how you overreact so I can tell all I need to know about your understanding.

Just rewatched it a half dozen times from three angles. I wish I could record the 3rd angle. It's pretty clear Yates just fell.Well according to usc, the refs gave the game to Purdue.![]()
USC left frustrated in season-ending loss to Purdue: 'We got robbed'
After leading for a good portion of the game, USC men's basketball can't hold on in the final minute, losing 76-71 to Purdue in the Big Ten tournament.www.latimes.com
It looked pretty clear to me just on the game replays. He slipped. Did Braden have a hand on him? Probably. But there was no push or anything. They just had a timeout so I wonder if the floor wasn't wiped up enough.Just rewatched it a half dozen times from three angles. I wish I could record the 3rd angle. It's pretty clear Yates just fell.
Yep, Braden got bumped on the screen and put his hand out to stay connected but in no way did he push or pull Yates. It looked pretty clear to me just on the game replays. He slipped. It's apparent that they have no set plays for Caleb, but as you indicated they need to do so.We will need a lot more out of Furst in the match-up. I do believe we are the better team, but it hasn't shown lately.
I think we'll see Smith be more aggressive today. If, everyone can rebound. We should win.
Problem Heide and Colvin, they have a decent game and disappear for the next two.If cam and Myles can do that in the tourney, we will be a tough out.
They’ve been playing their best basketball the last month…Problem Heide and Colvin, they have a decent game and disappear for the next two.
Playing their best basketball, the complete production of the last month isn't much to write home about. Cam played maybe his best last night, and Colvin was better, but we need to see a lot more from both, along with others on the bench. CMP needs to tell Myles to lay the ball in and not miss any more dunks. They’ve been playing their best basketball the last month…
Good god man. They are playing their best at the right time. They had 16 rebounds, 17 points and shot 5/9 from 3. Colvin played the best defense out of anyone on Claude, was aggressive taking it to the hole and even had a pull up jumper. Cam was aggressive on the boards. They are getting it together at the right time.Playing their best basketball, the complete production of the last month isn't much to write home about. Really disappointed in Cox last night for sure.

and as far as disappearing, other than TKR, all our players have a tendency to disappearGood god man. They are playing their best at the right time. Hell man, I've been happy with teams that lost. If they play to the best of their abilities. As I said, after better games Cam and Myles have been known to disappear. Hope they don't do that. And it would be nice if Cox and Furst do more.Good god man. They are playing their best at the right time. They had 16 rebounds, 17 points and shot 5/9 from 3. Purdue might play 5 or 6 more games this year if we get last night's production out of Heide and Colvin.Hell man, I've been happy with teams that lost. If they play to the best of their abilities. Or if Harris steps up, along with Cox contributing more than last night. Granted Colvin and Heide played better last night, I still don't feel good about them repeating it. Hope I'm wrong.Purdue might play 5 or 6 more games this year if we get last night's production out of Heide and Colvin.
