Brutal 5 Game Stretch

Over - 4 of 5 on road and we go 4-1. Pretty impressive. I know the Nebraska loss still stings but we have now won 6/7 and we keep the train rolling! Take care of business rest of way and who knows what happens. I'm willing to bet we are a 4 seed in this weekend's initial seeding exercise.
Agreed... easily could have been 5/5... but I'll take it

Keep it going, one game at a time. Purdue's best play is better than Rutgers' best play. No more letdowns for this team. They need to keep each other on edge, stay tough (how to manage some success) and be ready to battle on Tuesday night.

Boiler Up

Nebraska, with that new stadium, seems to pack it out. Remember, they are the only show in that state outside of Creighton (tiny school though). Seemed to have some good crowds for big games like Purdue and Whisky.

Wisconsin seems to have the Midas touch in those nail-biters....credit their experienced players doing what is necessary to pull out three barn-burners away from home in OT.....Minnesota, Rutgers (@ MSG), and Nebraska.

Likely the difference in the regular season race.

However, the Boilers going 4-1 in this last stretch is pretty darn good. Before the season, I would have taken roads wins at Columbus, East Lansing, College Park, and Bloomington.

In both the Rutgers and Nebraska games the Badgers were helped by poor free throw shooting at the end by their opponent. I give them credit for winning, but they have had some good fortune at the end of games also.

It was interesting how Gard took Happ out of the game on the offense at the end of the game because of his poor free throw shooting. Must be tough to take one of your best offensive players out of the game at crunch time.

That was a point TC made in another thread last week when discussing the CS/Happ POTY discussion. I disagree with TC on a lot of things but have to say his reference to Happ and his poor FT shooting being a big difference may be more significant then I was giving it.

in the old days we had 3 away games in a row. it was something like iu, ohio state and michigan state. that was the toughest schedule i remember. might be wrong on msu but it was the 3 toughest teams in the big ten at the time

We have won @ Michigan State, @ Maryland, @ Ohio State and @ Indiana. I understand that this may not be a typical year for all of these teams but nonetheless it is still impressive.
