Sharon Versyp called it a 6-to-12-month recovery after surgery, but wouldn't specify the injury. It's not, apparently, an ACL.
"When she had the injury, it took a while to figure out what was wrong," Versyp said. "And then when we figured it out, she had options. Could do it now or see what you could do. But it's the right decision. If you can't practice day after day on a knee, then it's not good and not going to bode well for her in the long run. So she'll redshirt."
Horrocks, a junior, will apply for the medical after the season — and the NCAA will grant it — leaving her with two years of eligibility.
