Boy those were two great possessions.

First one wasn't so bad if we had taken one of the first 3 good looks we had. One of the few instances where being too unselfish hurt us.
Terrible. We had a few good looks... I am not sure if people are afraid to not feed Biggie or what the deal is. It was so wide open a few times. End it there. Or better yet, don't relinquish an 8 point lead

If going to dwell on the negative then yes, those two possessions were terrible. RC had a open look prior but didn't unload, thankfully OT he did.

Unreal how poorly played first half was. Some seriously ugly basketball by both teams and way too many turnovers and missed shot. Glad we don't go back there again this year. Anyway slice it up, a sweet win though.

I love lines like this because the other team has a say in that as well. Did you expect PSU to just stop playing? It was an ugly game with entirely too many turnovers and PSU is not a terrible team and was a great win.
No but it has been a pattern for Purdue in some games over the last 2-3 years. This year Nebraska, Iowa, last night, Little Rock, etc. A reasonable lead late and they get cute with running their equivalent of the "4 minute offense." They want to burn the shot clock below 10, then panic to try to get off some sort of shot or turn it over. I get trying to run some clock, but it takes them completely out of sync. When the heat goes up, this is what happens.

My point still remains. And also let's be clear, we aren't the only school this happens to and is more frequent than you probably imagine.

The Purdue basketball program is not in a vacuum.

That does seem to be where Purdue gets in trouble, especially when not taking it on a drive. And the defense knows it. This is one area where an under control and wiser Carsen Edwards might really help. You want to take some time off the clock or get fouled, but you have to keep running the rhythm of the offense.....then there are times where the movement stops as well....and also limiting chances for put-backs and second possessions.

Hindsight is 20/20, and it's easy to arm-chair coach, but IMO last night was compounded by the way the Boilers chose to relieve the back-court pressure......not as much help from the front-court.....and it did slow down the time left for Purdue to get into its offensive sets (including the weave), and no looks to penetrate early.
