I may not agree with anything 1973 post but he is right he never said anything about my kid and what comment I made had absolutely nothing to do with his posts this is on me I made the comment not my son me and I should not have made this comment out of frustration on this board. Treed1967, AKA Mom. I understand the frustration. If I were you I would stay on the paid board. This board gets trolled a lot by rival fans and others that want to stir the pot. I think Nojel is highly thought of as a player and a person. He will be a great player.

One thing I've noticed is that those that come on here and troll under different IDs never maintain their new persona long and their true colors come out. 73 was really exposed here over the last week to say the least and I would be shocked if anyone on here still believes they are a Boiler.

I understand boiler 1973! I was once the same way when it came to Hazell! I was even suspended for my fire Hazell comments until the vast majority of posters said the same thing! As you get older your patience grows thinner, you become more sceptical, and also more vocal! On many issues he's right! The last time we made the final 4 was before many of you were born! Will Purdue ever make the final 4? Maybe some day! 1973 does have to work on his delivery of what he says! 90% of the time he's right and posters know it! They just hate the way he says it! Is there anybody who thought the Boilers had a great game against WKU or Tenn? Have we all seen that type of performance before?
The point I disagree with is despite how much we like or hate each other; and despite the personal drama we create, I highly doubt any of our words have ever affected a recruit's decision! And if it did, I feel sorry for that recruit because they are going to receive a lot more of it from fans, coaches, friends, teammates, and opponents! If an opponent finds out a player is emotional about internet posts enough to choose a different school, that opponent will use that player's emotions against him in a game situation! If you are an elite athlete , you have been criticized by somebody since 7th grade! What you see on this board pales in comparison to what athletes receive in their real world! My son is adopted and looks nothing like me! It's amazing the ugly things people will say until they realize you are the parent of the athlete they are cutting down!
In looking at 1973's posts, the vast majority are aimed at Painter! Isn't he doing the exact thing many of us did towards Hazell? The only difference is Hazell was actually a bad coach and people loved our harassment of him! Looking back, I'm just as guilty of yelling fire the coach as 1973 is! I'm also a sceptical, doubtful person! The only real difference is I did so several times in the real life and found the replacement to actually be worse.

This thread speaks to the most embarrassing part of this board. If someone doesn't like your perception or opinion the insults fly. I can't imagine a place where everyone roots for the same team....Is an Alum, most likely....but, will be attacked and ridiculed for your opinion. It's actually pathetic and adolescent. Ok,I admit that he got to me. I joined this board back in April because I love Purdue basketball. Where I live and work I don't get to hear a lot of positive things said about the Boilers. I relish the good things that I read on this board. After the 2 losses, I was as down as everyone else was because I had high hopes for this team and the way that I perceived the way things were going. I got on the board yesterday hoping to hear something positive. I even started a post about Matt Haarms 's performance. Then 'you know who' starts posting his negativity. I then put him on ignore. Then I wake up this morning and see what is going on with Treed and I got angry. I'm sorry if I offended you true Purdue people. I would love to say I told you so to prove myself right! I was called crazy for predicting 6 football victories this year! And going into the IU game at 5-6 and winning! And I didn't waver ! However, I would never gloat or wish Purdue would lose just to prove my point! I wanted Hazell to be fired, but each game he coached I still hoped that Purdue would find a way to win despite him!

Thanks!!! one of my jobs in the military was writing tech manuals , Air Force regulations, and history reports. I was trained and also received a lot of awards for my inclusion of detail. As a college professor, my tests were usually 12-15 pages long. My pen is mightier than the sword you just fell on.
Are we really trying to encourage parent's who think their kid is the best thing since slice bread to post here? Saying things like, "enjoy him this year, because he'll be gone next year". Purdue will survive without any one particular individual. I'm pretty sure we all know that parent who drives their kid to different travel teams each year, because the last one didn't treat their kid special enough..
I wouldn't assume all parents do that. I wouldn't even assume that most do. And I absolutely do not assume that the parents who post here do it.

You got issue with what I said direct it towards me not the board and from reading many post responses many thought I should not be on this board in the first place talking about anything on this board. My son is special to me like if you got kids or a child their special to you as well. I’ve raised my son on my own since birth he and I been through a lot to get to this place were he is today. You don’t no my story or our journey or struggles he and I have gone through but my one regret is putting my business on this board. My choice of words sounds like I’m entitled Well I’m not and their are many players like My son out there and they come a dime of dozens I get that and I can see now how it make me look too like my son too good and y’all be glad he here type attitude. I understand what you are saying, and it's very nice of you to say. Everyone posts things online sometimes and then regrets ever doing so. As a parent, I would never be able to read a message board, because fans over react to a teams, or individual performance, on a game to game basis. I don't know what you've been through, or how hard it's been for you. However, if I may give one piece of unsolicited, unqualified advice. Your son is in the hands of professionals, the best of the best. Enjoy the season and enjoy being on this journey with your son. Actually, read them all. While many of us, myself included, can occasionally be pithy or rude in posting, Boiler 73 (and a couple others) seems to strive to do so regularly, and thus my comment. It doesn't mean that I don't sometimes agree with what he says, it does mean that I don't hold his presentation typically in high regard. I actually don't think he is an IU troll but rather a Boiler fan of sorts who doesn't have much in the way of a positive world view.
