Blackmon out with injury against NW

I just hope Purdue doesn't go into Lincoln thinking "too highly" of themselves. Nebraska's on a 5-game losing streak but they won their first three conference games (@ IU, impressive win @ MD, & beat Iowa @ home in 2OT), so they'll probably be ticked off and ready to give the Boilers their best shot. We know they are capable of that after playing the way they did in the aforementioned games.

Boiler Up

If Purdue jumps out to a nice lead early, I think Nebraska will roll over. The five game losing streak has to be taking its toll mentally.

I agree though that Nebraska will be ready and give Purdue their best shot early. Let's hope Purdue is ready to play.

I believe it will really boil down to how well they can contain Glynn Watson and Tai Webster. Jeriah Horne and Isaiah Roby are two freshmen that have given the Cornhuskers "a spark" off the bench in many of their wins as well. If undersized big man Ed Morrow is still out with an injury, that should increase Purdue's opportunities to get points in the paint and defensive boards. Morrow is their best offensive rebounder.

He's out indefinitely, which is usually Crean speak meaning "for the season."
I heard from two different IU fans tonight that it was another knee injury and that it indeed was likely the end of his season...obviously no way to know that is the case, so it may not be, but both people seemed confident with what they had said as being accurate.

Most of us are hoping that the long nightmare of the Crean era is coming to an end.

Feel bad for James.

I don't recall a lot of "long nightmare" references when IU was ranked #1 in the country...or when they won B1G championships in two of the last four years...in fact, I don't recall any references to it a year ago...on the contrary, I can remember multiple references over the past five years to "being back", "returning to glory", and, one of my favorites, "phoenix rising from the ashes"...never mind ALL of the myopic "blueblood" references.

I am not a Blackmon fan personally, but, I respect his ability certainly...and it is irrelevant in the end anyway, as I think anyone/everyone feels sorry for him with respect to having suffered another injury and setback.

Don't forget "The Movement", starring Yogi Ferrell and 4 other players that transferred (or were Creaned) out.
