I always find it extremely fascinating on how a high schooler makes a decision on which college to play his spot at if he or she is highly recruited. Almost all of us on this board try to apply logic to this decision making, but the problem is that almost always logic plays no role in the decision. If payoff money is involved that often takes precedence. Having been active in the process of recruiitng athletes to Purdue you learn to not count on almost anything many of the athletes say to you, let alone what drives their decision. It just is what it is with teenagers(most have no concept what life in the real world is like.
Concerning Biggie it appears that after all the recruiting he has undergone with the help of a strong mentor in Barnes, he has decided to go to Cal simply because he made a friendship with Rabb just recently. All the years of recruiting by the other schools get thrown out the window. The only hope is that Barnes will put his foot down and say no.
There certainly are exceptions to this such as VInce Edwards, etc but they usually come from a strong family background.
In other words, there is often no way to make sense of an athletes' choices.
