Aside from PSU gray which was scheduled in advance, Purdue has looked like Purdue without stupid white helmets, weird colored Ps on the helmets, etc.

My preference is for the traditional Old Gold helmets and pants with black jerseys.

I noticed that our neighbors to the north have their old gold helmets and pants on today. It does not look too good from afar with the green logo on the helmet but up close not bad! So it can be put to rest that the old gold color cannot be made, Purdue just chooses not to use it!
I think this current gold, shiny gold, "Vegas" gold is the gold that will be Purdue gold for the foreseeable future. If you look at marketing an all the other sports, it is the same. The helmets switched in 1997, the pants in 1996. This was a bad look with the Vegas pants and old gold helmet.
Face it, ghost o' ripper, Purdue Athletics needs an image makeover in the worst way; but these ignorant rubes will more than likely just hire Floyd the barber from Clark's Hill for the job. Floyd is a golfing buddy of theirs and gives a mean crew-cut for a bargain price, but is he really an image consultant??
