Jerry Rice dad was a bricklayer.
Jerry used to work with his dad.
His dad used to toss bricks at him.
That's how his hands got so strong and became a good receiver of the ball.
Pretty interesting story.
That's some cross training right there that helped mold a HOF.

Then of course you had Ronnie Lott smash his finger in between his chest and a fullbacks helmet. He finished the game and later had the tip of his pinkie finger cut off.

That’s a good anecdote but I’m pretty sure rice would have been the best ever even if he didn’t catch a few bricks
