If you don’t think democracy wasn’t on the line to an extent, then you need a true come to Jesus. There were folks running for Secretary of State who were election deniers and said they would ensure democrats never won again. You don’t see that as a threat to democracy? Jesus weeps.

I've lived in FL, since 1980 and I've seen a lot of Governors, including Charlie Crist, when he was still a Republican, and DeSantis is by far the best Governor we've ever had. He's got this state running like a Swiss watch. He handled the Pandemic beautifully with minimal interruption to our lives, while keeping our citizens safe and our businesses open. FL has the largest percentage of old people in our population of any state, which should have given us the highest number of deaths, but that wasn't near the case.
People and businesses are flocking to Florida because our taxes are low (NO State Income Tax), our cost of living is relatively low and we have a business friendly environment. He's purging Gender bending classes in primary grades and CRT indoctrination from our schools and focusing on academics, rather than ideology.
DeSantis also did a masterful job in dealing with Hurricane Ian. He prepositioned crews to restore electric power and had the necessary assets available to rescue people and help the rebuilding process. The Sanibel Island Causeway was rebuilt and operating again within weeks of being destroyed.
That's a function of leadership, intelligence, work ethic and caring about his constituents, which I haven't seen from any of the Dem Politicians.
I want DeSantis to be President, since he would do an incredible job, but I also don't want to lose him as Governor, since he would leave very large shoes to fill.

I also thought it was absurd that the Dems kept pushing their Political theater with the ridiculous Jan 6th hearings and I was wrong.
Polling indicated that all the items that the Reps were running on were in the Top 5 concerns of the public.
Exit polling of Dem voters indicated that their top 2 concerns were Abortion and Saving Democracy.
I'm impressed and somewhat afraid, because indoctrination apparently works, since all the Dem drones came though for them. Now, who's going to save our Democracy from the Socialists?

I certainly wouldn't count on a landslide. When you have ole Joe getting 33% more votes than the dems registered to vote a few years earlier (81 million versus 60 million registered in 2016) and people in this forum that would say they would vote for Biden again knowing the mess we are in that is enough to know that the votes would not necessarily lead to a landslide.

Trump lost me, when he said, "DeSanctimonious" a couple days before the election. After the election, if they've both announced their candidacy for President, let it fly, but you don't cheap shot someone in your own party a couple days before an important election. That was unnecessary and unforgiveable.

The court struck down the NY map, the court also struck down the OH map but republicans chose to ignore that and use the map anyway.

As for Schumer…I get he’s a senator, but he’s also the majority lead for the senate. If the Democrats want to stop gerrymandering, then he and NY should lead by example.
As I have repeatedly said I didn’t vote for him in the primary but did in the general election. I have been a big Desantis fan for some time. If Desantis runs and beats Trump in the primary, I just hope Trump gets behind him and supports him but it wouldn’t surprise me if Trump would run as a 3rd party candidate which would guarantee a Dem victory

I don't know if Trump would necessarily go third Party, but I am concerned that Trump would go scorched Earth, if he thought he were losing, so neither of them could win. DeSantis is young enough, that I'm at the point where if Trump announces, I'd prefer that DeSantis just sit this one out.
Trump seems oblivious to the fact that his time has come and gone, and as long as he gets adoring crowds at his rallies, the delusion will continue. I think the only person he would listen to is his daughter, but I'd really prefer to see the whole family do an intervention. Perhaps that would wake him up.

We are no longer energy independent and Biden's depleted most of our Strategic Petroleum reserve. He has weakened this country dramatically.

It's a process called thinking, so when conditions change, you can change your mind to adapt to the prevailing conditions. I'll bet they didn't teach you that in Drone training.
