Beat IU

Iowa is playing out of its mind. Still early, but what a pathetic 2nd half. Missed fts, to's, bad d....

IU is playing really well now, defense is alot better, they are a good 3 pt shooting team, I will be surprised if Purdue wins.

That would make me happy to see IU not make the NCAA, but they would need a collapse the rest of the season.

You mention how well Iowa shoots 3 pointers, just wait till the IU game. They will hit 15 or so. I don't see Painter making adjustments very well.

To be honest I'm not nearly as worried about Indiana. Iowa is a much better team and its their length and versatility that gets you. Oh and that hug/mug defense

Interesting they have Indiana only with a 47% chance of dancing and a 6th place finish. While Purdue a 99% chance of dancing and 2nd place finish

I hope that's accurate. I have a bet with a co-worker. If IU makes the NCAA tournament, I buy him lunch one day. If IU doesn't make the NCAA tournament, he buys me lunch for a week. I figure them to make it but I'll take 5 to 1 odds with Crean as their coach and knowing that they haven't beaten anyone worth a damn this year. Their NCAA resume is weak. In rpi, they haven't even played a top 25 team yet and are 1-1 against teams 26-50 (thank you Notre Dame for screwing that game up). I could easily see them losing 5 of their next 6 and after that who knows how that team may implode. Right now they got everyone blowing sunshine up their ass for beating up on lower level teams. If things go poorly they will be a reflection of their leader in how to deal with it. Their leader? Tom Crean.

I understand. But if you watch them, they are a different team than a month ago. I don't care who they've beat or by how much. They are playing patient and playing defense. With the way they shoot, they can be really dangerous.
Someone with some basketball IQ got to CTC and made him listen.

Crean's contract isn't up until 2020. So I strongly doubt he'll be getting an extension.
When your trying to give away 4 year scholarships, your contract better be out that long and beyond. It's 2016, so do the math. He will be looking for an extension sooner than you think.... As will CMP

Looking for? Sure. Getting? Not unless his teams start doing a lot better than they have been in both the B1G and the NCAA tournament. Barring a big turnaround in results, I have a hard time imagining Crean getting an extension. He's lost just about everybody's confidence.

I'd say it's more likely he doesn't make it all the way to 2020.

Yeah, IU's been playing very well for most of the Big Ten season. I certainly understand the objection that we've played a weak schedule. That's undeniably true and the reason we're still as low as we are in the RPI. It'll be interesting to see how we fare once we play Iowa, MSU, Maryland, Michigan and Purdue. The homestretch is going to be brutal.

That said, our defense the last few weeks has been as good as I can remember it being in the Crean era. We're also taking much better care of the ball. Whoever we're playing, if we can continue doing those things the rest of the way, I think we'll hold our own against the league's best.

If IU wins the B1G or even finishes 2nd, they will probably give him one.... Look what they gave Wilson with the weak schedule and 6 wins.

Not going out on a limb here but expectations for the basketball team are quite a bit higher than they are for the football team.
