My daughter was picked to be a ball kid for the Maryland game. Does anyone know what they do?
I have no idea but that’s great for her!My daughter was picked to be a ball kid for the Maryland game. Does anyone know what they do?
Thanks for the info! Do you know if they get to rebound for the players? They are on floor before the game and shoot baskets for about 5-8 minutes before Boilers come out for formal pre-game warmups. They are shown and announced on video board during this time as well. I’m sure some othe backstage things as well. Enjoy and congratulations to your daughter

Thanks! This is what I was looking for.My son was a ball kid earlier this year for the Valpo game. The don't rebound for the players, but do get to stand on the sidelines and get repeated high fives during layup drill etc. PJ was by far the most interactive with the kids. He started playing pass with the 4 of them, just kind of cutting up with them. Then when the team goes back to the locker room prior to starting lineups they get to shoot on the court. My favorite part had to be the students cheering the kids on. I'm not even sure my son noticed his stardom! They stay at court level for tip off and then will meet back up with you.
Overall, this experience was amazing. Seeing my son out there with the players and getting great pictures was obviously a proud parent moment.
And lead the Paint Crew in a chant of "IU sucks!"Not sure about the exact procedures, but I think it goes something like a) Bring an air needle to partially deflate the visitors' warmup rack; b) Yell "Let go of my big brother!" when Purdue's on offense; c) Yell "Three seconds!" when Purdue's on defense; d) Accidentally spill a bottle of Johnson's Baby Oil in front of the visitors' huddle late in the second half; e) Take pictures and have fun.
