Based on title alone, I thought this shockingly referred to Purdue Assistant Coaches. Thankfully not - I just assumed.

Well, now we know why Arizona suddenly had success at landing big time recruits out of nowhere. Not that we were actively competing against those folks, but if Louisville gets dragged into it, that all but guarantees Romeo to IU. Threw up in my mouth a little typing that.

I've always thought Izzo and painter ran a clean program. And Bowen was a 100% prediction for MSU, Izzo turned his back on him, and painter never went after him even with a glaring hole and scholarship to give when biggie left. I guess Bowen's asking price was too high?

I have been catching sh*t from the "no one is cheating" crowd for a while for saying this. Painter is one of the FEW that are playing by the rules
And I hate to say it, but the Bowen situation paints Izzo in a pretty good light also.
I have always suspected something was going on, but no proof . If this was the NCAA running the investigation I, like others, would have no faith that there would ever be a guilty verdict handed out by the NCAA. "Move a long, nothing to see here". Considering this is the FBI and they have made arrests, total different story. It will very interesting to see how many head coaches have calls in to high powered lawyers today. I don't see all of these Assistant coaches taking the fall on their own. A few may, but not all of them.
If I remember, Bowen was between MSU and Oregon. Oregon filled up and then everything changed. I wouldn't be shocked to see Oregon dragged into this. They always talked about Nike money and they have had good luck recruiting top recruits from all over the nation. Kind of came out of nowhere like Arizona. Well, now it all makes sense.
I just don't see IU being dragged into this. They didn't land enough too 25 kids from outside of the state for me to be suspicious. Could be wrong and I understand the wishful thinking, but I'm guessing they were clean of breaking that particular rule.
This has the potential to shake things up big time. If one shoe company is doing it, I would wager a lot $$ they are all doing it.

Where was the NCAA in all of this? If you look at how they reacted to the UNC violations, it is no wonder that the FBI is involved. The NCAA just looks the other way.

Anyway, it's the families that tend to get hooked up with the payments, not the high school coaches (could be exceptions, though).
They know where their bread is buttered....
They have no balls to cut in to their potential economic stranglehold they have and are looking to get as professional sports decline more and more. There is an experience going to college athletic events....not so much with professional.
