Apparently the NCAA is investigating

Make sure to read the comments, pretty funny some people called it back then.

Looks like somebody considered him top-25 at some point in his 8th grade year. This video, and that ranking, are obviously made after Barnes adopted and helped him lose some of his 360 lbs. He is not that weight in this video. It feels dirty talking about such personal details that should be left behind for this young man. Unfortunately, they're probably relevant to the investigation and therefore, there's no way to ignore them in such a discussion.

.Help me here! I bleed Gold and Black in the middle of Illini country. Please tell me that this thing with the NCAA will be O.K. and Caleb can play. I am having a small stroke over here! Help me Boiler faithful!!!![/QUOTE]

Make sure you include the appropriate amount of sales tax, Gem. We don't want you losing your posting privileges.

Innocent until proven guilty right? Or dont they teach that in Purdue. Also funny how I can always say scoreboard and you folks have to wallow in mediocrity. Must suck that even Butler has more final fours they your little school.

I like Msuass. He makes me giggle.

With all the crap you guys spew about Izzo this place would be loaded with MSU fans way beyond this one flamer if Purdue was actually relevant. But I think most of us just view you as a bunch of nutjobs. You have somehow created this alternate reality where Izzo is some rogue cheater. Not even UM fans, whose teams we actually hate, go down that road. It is just really bizarre.
I had always respected Purdue during the Keady tenure, so I would hope it is just a bunch of message board whackos, because you really come across as the most insecure, paranoid, butt hurt whackos of any fan base I know of.

Wow after 15 years you finally put up post #4. We feel very honored to get post 4 on this subject.

You MSU guys started this crap. We didn't.
  • You are the ones that accused us of dirty recruiting and influencing agents in the Dawson recruitment. Nobdy but your board went down this trail.
  • You are the guys that accused us of dirty recruiting and improper benefits in the Biggie recruiting. Personal chef? WTF?
  • You are the ones that accused Painter of "turning in" Izzo on his NCAA violation, when he sat out a game.
Now you come here with your holier-than-thou attitude and call us "whackos"? What an ass!

Yet, here you are obsessing about us on our board and trying to convince us how irrelevant we are. Sad, but funny.

Other than leading the nation in starters with felony arrests and then miracles of charges dropped, how is MSU relevant?

You are obviously not a college graduate, or MSU degrees can be had in two weeks after graduating from kindergarten. Check your spelling next time so you don't read like that.
I have to disagree with you… this is a perfect example of a MSU graduate…. based on the use of wrath… I'd say a masters as a minimum.

I think the timing is important now. The closed scrimmage against Dayton is tomorrow and no one can play that is planning on redshirting. If Swanigan isn't cleared and we don't know when he might be, do they choose not to redshirt Basil just in case this drags out? Do they redshirt someone like Cline instead in that case?

Correction, only returning players who are redshirting can't play. Freshmen can play in exhibitions and controlled scrimmages and still redshirt.

Oh ok, thanks for the correction. What do you think this means for Basil though? Do we redshirt like seemed to be the plan or does Painter play it safe and leave him on the roster? Does he just hold him out of the scrimmage for flexibility going into the season?

This was covered in Boiling Over on the pay side. I don't feel comfortable putting that info on the free board. Sorry. :(

Oh no worries, I wasn't aware it was part of the paid content. I agree, these guys work hard so they deserve to get their money. I suppose we don't have to wait long to find out anyway. Just a little frustrating that we're even in this position to begin with. Thanks for the reply.

No reason to apologize. The topic can still be discussed . . the pay members just can't divulge the info that was given out.

Anyway, if Painter is smart, he'll hold Basil out, regardless of the Swanigan situation. It gives him many more options, that way. We all just need to hope the NCAA gets its stuff together and figures this out ASAP.
