Why are we always so negative. I'll admit I'm the same way, when my wife sent me a text saying we were #5 my first response was "just in time to lose to Mich tomorrow ". I don't want to be that guy but I graduated from Purdue so I almost have to be him.
As stupid as it sounds I care really deeply about a win or a loss for about an evening or so. Why can't I believe for a month or so?

I really can't stand that Graham Couch dude. What a tool! His voting credentials should be revoked; his ballot has no logic and demonstrates he is just trying to garner shock value with his stupid rankings that are several standard deviations away from the mean. As far as our overall ranking; that is pretty exciting! Won't feel too great about it unless we beat Michigan and if we do then I will celebrate!

I see where you're coming from. It's nice to be in the top 5, but at this point the ranking probably reflects the volatility at the top as much as Purdue's accomplishments to date.
Still, Purdue is something like 6-1 against the RPI top 50 with a chance for another quality road win tonight.
Ordinarily, I wouldn't have a great deal of confidence going into a game like this, but I think this bunch is up to the task.
I remember when the baby boilers hit #4 . They went to OSU and beat them on their home court by double digits. Then went up to MSU and beat them by 22, both highly ranked at the time. I can remember a clip showing the Boilers walking onto the court at OSU and Ryne Smith telling their fans that they were going "down tonight.". I would hope that this team has that kind of confidence by now.

He's obviously dug into his fox hole now that everyone has called him out on his bias and will just keep moving the goal posts to defend his position until we inevitably lose again (as all other teams are doing).
ps- Michigan St only road win is Rutgers. Sounds like he needs to drop them from the top 25. Bwahahahahaaahahahaa!!!!!!!
