Anyone remember that VSPN parody from 2000?

I was looking at some of my old work in the Wayback machine and stumbled upon this. If memory serves it went viral with over 50,000 visits per day for a couple of weeks. I had the cease and desist letter from ESPN framed on my wall for a bit (alongside my reply telling them to pound sand).

Hah I remember that site - nice! ESPN loved the sub-par QB with RB speed so much that their coverage seemed unjustifiably Vick-dominant.

I remember that site. I loved the “other news” links and was stunned when I clicked them and they went to actual news stories

One that stood out to me was a plane crash in Virginia that had congressmen on board but the link was something like “Plane crashes in northern Virginia- Michael Vick unharmed!!”

My guess is ESPN was pissed that some of the jokes would be actual suggested news topics and the site “pre-used” the Vick angle they were working on.
