In Oregon Portland has about 70% of the population. Portland is extremely liberal, while most of the rest of the state is conservative. In NY, NYC has the vast majority of voters and again, is very progressive and leftist leaning. And there are many other states that have that same situation.

When thinking about Oregon, Oregon is perceived as a hugely liberal, left-leaning state, and as a result Oregon voters not on the coast have proposed they succeed from Oregon and join Idaho because of a lack of representation and never having their votes count. When you look at NY, all you think of is NYC, when upstate NY is a great and beautiful area, but again, unrepresented.

How can all voters in a state have a fair election when this happens? How does an Oregon rectify the disparity?

Follow the Nebraska distribution of electoral college votes.
Nebraska is a red state but their liberal cities are, at least currently, represented by their congressional districts and who they voted for.

That would make the issue worse and not better as outside of a few big cities, middle America truly becomes fly over country with no say.

Yes the electoral college makes all states matter. Without it, states like Indiana would be irrelevant. So if you live in Indiana, removing the EC is a less than brilliant take, as it makes your voice & vote meaningless.

Yeah, let’s just let each state cast one vote. In the event of a 25-25 tie, Puerto Rico, Guam, USVI and American Samoa can cast the deciding vote.

Let’s remove mail in voting and have one show identification to vote and make voting matter for all legitimate people.

No question that needs done....with verification of citizenship. Strick jail time for noncitizens & citizens alike who attempt election fraud. Moreover, drop boxes need to go.

Better yet, I would like to see a 2 day holiday to vote in person for National elections every 4 years. Those 2 days are the only days to vote, with a law that mandates vote count by midnight on Day 2. Voting stops at 4 pm on day 2. Limit mail in to overseas military, disabled, etc

I also would like 1 term limit in Congress for Senate & 2 terms for House.

Definitely would like to outlaw ALL out of jurisdiction money for all elections, as well as limit donations to $50/individual....as well as accountability & transparency on who makes those listed by all parties.

That should fix most of it....
