3rd team All Big Ten corner Fant vs. Hunte

Just rewatched the Bucket game.

Several throws to Mahoungou with Fant playing defense tells a great deal about why he (Fant) was chosen over Hunte.

I counted 3 pass interferences (only 2 of them were called) On one Fant gets away with holding Anthony's right hand. All three would have been TD's. As it was, Mahoungou only had one TD pass thrown to him, but could have easily had 4. Fant held Mahoungou to 2 receptions of 88 yards. Clearly an all Big Ten performance, when we consider that Mahoungou is an All-American.

On the other hand, Hunte played a mediocre game, giving up one TD to Simmie and only laid the wood 4 times to IU runners.

I know my bias is showing, but sometimes the end of the year awards drive me crazy!

Everyone but the referee saw it. I could see it plain as day where I was sitting at game

Fant gets away with a lot. It is what it is. One stat that I think can be misleading is the PBU number. The side that never gets mentioned when touting a player's PBUs is that that player has to have the ball thrown his way in order to rack up those numbers. I don't think I've ever watched a game where anyone was afraid to throw Fant's way.

Beyond PBU I think he also led the conference in celebrating an incompletion when he was out of position but the receiver simply dropped the ball

It warms my heart to think that Anthony cost Rashard some income potential with that performance. NFL scouts are going to appreciate that film.
