That 82-55 win over Ohio State did a lot more than just snap a two-game dip and keep Purdue on pace for its record 25th Big Ten championship. It restored Purdue’s absolutely unique claim to being the Big Ten’s all-time most dominant basketball program with a winning record in the all-time series against each and every school in Big Ten Conference history.

You just can’t beat beating everyone ever head-to-head. No one else can ever make that claim, and now Purdue again leads everyone in the Big Ten.

Purdue held that distinction for ages until slipping badly against Ohio State in the early 2000s, when the Buckeyes mounted a 24-6 run that flipped the series in their favor. But the Boilermakers since 2015 have rebounded by winning 10 of the 14 meetings, re-establishing Purdue’s all-time edge over the Buckeyes with this season’s sweep leaving the count at 93-92.

Only two others are even close. With three games left in the 2022-2023 season, Purdue leads newcomers Maryland 8-6 and Rutgers 13-6.

Purdue’s advantages are wide against everyone else, including the long-deposed University of Chicago --
20-6 over Nebraska,
104-90 over Illinois,
91-75 over Michigan,
95-78 over Iowa,
75-56 over Michigan State,
109-86 over Minnesota,
45-13 over Penn State,
111-74 over Wisconsin,
134-48 over Northwestern,
and, of course, 125-91 over indinia. Ouch. Put that score on an NBA scoreboard and see what they call it.

Purdue founded this league, and, once again, both by conference championships and head-to-head, Purdue owns everyone in it, as Ali used to say, for ALL TIME!

What about UCLA and USC?

...and it is only OSU and Purdue that have 3 peats just showing how those two programs have been so good over the years

What USC and UCLA have achieved against any BIG school to this point doesnt count for much in my feeble mind because those two schools arent league members yet.

Methinks ya got something there, Matty … not to mention that UCLA owes all of its fame to a three-time All-American Boilermaker who won the 1932 national championship right here.

Unfortunately, though, some folks are fully unable to find joy in anything.

Thanks for the compliment and you are correct about some folks.I know people who arent happy unless they are miserable about something.
