In today's landscape, it doesn't have the same meaning. Indiana will still grab some guys from Indiana but with the portal, you'll see a bigger mix of guys. I think DeVries will try to split it. And yea, Indiana recruits nationally. Everyone does. Xavier had two guys on this year's roster from Indiana. Ryan Conwell who started at South Florida that wasn't recruited by Indiana, Purdue, Notre Dame out of high school. And Bob Nunge.
More than 1,150 Division I players have entered the transfer portal since it opened Monday, far exceeding the previous years' totals at the same stage.

NCAA screwed the pooch with this, more people are now concerned with the portal than the upcoming games that are yet to be played. Going forward this needs to be pushed back two weeks, at the worst start it the week of the final 4, this is like the NFL starting their FA period during the playoffs.
Needs to be streamlined big time.
Portal opens 1 week after national title game. You get 7 days to enter and then 30 to recommit.

Don't understand teams that add bench guys unless they just need #s because their team was depleted one way or another. A big time D1 team adding Cupps or similar quality players to me has lost their direction.
