☆☆☆☆OFFICIAL IMPEACHMENT INQUIRY THREAD☆☆☆☆

Again, if the facts are indisputable why is support for impeachment at 45% - basically the dem base? Everyone knows why - you just won't admit it. Which is kind of hilarious.
When this is the case, wtf do you think is the reason?......

A majority of Republicans say President Trump is a better leader than former President Lincoln, according to this week's Economist/YouGov weekly tracking poll.

Trump happens to be presiding over the best economy in the history of the world. Not to mention the country is much safer now than we've been in a couple of decades. He's appointed two conservative judges to the supreme court and told the liberal media to kiss his a$$. For these and a few other reasons its not hard to understand why some would think more highly of Trump than any president.

OK, so you refuse to acknowledge your ignorant/wrong prior conclusions and instead deflect to something that makes no sense and is wrong (the dem base is not 45% of the country lol).

The bottom line - support for impeachment (which was never overwhelming to begin with) has dropped. This despite the dems screaming that the evidence is not in dispute. If the facts are so overwhelmingly pointing toward impeachment, why is it that more people than now believe impeachment is not warranted? Now we all know that your side's resident idiot will scream FOX NEWS!!!. But we all know he's a few cubes short of a full tray.

Waiting for a Republican to challenge the facts at hand instead of lying about the process and complaining the Democrats are being mean to Trump.

Presiding yes, responsible for, no.

Safer how? Because he spent more on defense?

You're saying people think he's better than Lincoln because he talks shit, calls people names? Acts like a tough guy?

Has trump tried to hold the country together during a civil war......or is he so self absorbed he's helping to create one?

Waiting for a dem to provide facts (something other than hearsay) that Trump committed bribery. Because of the lack of evidence, one would have to prove what Trump's intentions were. No one can do that. One can only make assumptions. That's why more Americans are now not in favor of impeachment.

lol he couldn't be more diametrically opposite from Lincoln. Lincoln preserved the union and Trump is tearing it apart.

I feel disgusting even mentioning those two in the same sentence.

Lol. So if trump is so clearly innocent as you and rube nation believe why does half the country think he should be impeached?
Makes as much sense as your question.......that I expect you to repeat 5 more times because you won't listen to any replies and you have nothing better to say.

Not half - 45% think he should be impeached. And I'd say that figure pretty well aligns with the amount of people who can't stand him and want him out of office for that that reason alone. I can't stand him either but we don't get to remove people from office just because we don't like them or their politics. That's not how it works. Although the dems just opened up that possibility for all future POTUS's.

Exactly how is the POTUS "tearing it apart"? I heard the same from the right about Obama.

1) " Presiding over" . So is the Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee. So is the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. And the Fed Chairmen. And the CEO's of the Fortune 500.
Trump's ACTUAL influence on it all ??
Exactly.
2) In WHAT WAY, exactly, are US citizens "safer" than before ??
3) His "appointment" of 2 SCOTUS justices was predicated on the nominating advice of long-time conservative judiciary advisors....who had done 100% of the necessary research on the qualifications of dozens of initial candidates....all Trump had to do was stay out of the way & not f__ anything up
4) We'll all wait until the next DEM. President tells CONSERVATIVE media to " kiss his ass" to ask you how important that might be on the list of presidential accomplishments...
To consider Trump a greater president than Mt. Rushmore level men......requires a virtual complete deprivation of common sense

So much meaningless performance art and fake indignation from Republicans today.

It's like they're all auditioning for an idiot right wing talk radio gig.
That’s all the Republican Party is now, the politicians are indistinguishable from the propaganda mouthpieces Hannity, Limbaugh, Levin, etc.

Meanwhile, most polls have shown dem support in the low-mid 80s consistently since Pelosi announced the inquiry. Two recent polls have also shown it in the high 80s. So, I suspect the first CNN poll was a bit on the higher tail of the distribution then bounced back to the lower tail.

You cherry picking this one result and reaching such a "drastic" conclusion tells me that you don't have a very strong stats background.

2016 republicans:
polls are fake news!

2019 republicans:
look at this poll!

Did you actually watch or just decide to post this from blissful ignorance? Half of the Dems could barely read their prewritten little pontifications. It must be great to go through life so blind and clueless.

The morning of Trump's July 25 call asking Ukraine for a "favor" to investigate Joe Biden's son, Trump was reading a Fox News poll showing 2 things: 1. Biden with a "commanding lead" for Democratic nomination 2. Biden beating Trump by 10 points in the general election. He tweeted about the poll he was reading. An hour after Trump's tweet he has the phone call with Zelensky where he asks for the Bidens to be investigated.

Right wingers have started to avoid this thread like the plague. Guess Hannity and Limbaugh haven’t told them what to think about the Duffey emails and the timeline yet.

I'm starting my Jan 1st, 2020, resolution early. I vow to ignore ignorance...beginning with your asinine posts.
Of course you ignore facts, that’s how you remain blissfully ignorant all the time on every single subject.

Read this timeline and tell me Pompeo didn't know what was going on with Yavonovitch and Rudy wasnt working to get her out.
She was actually working to eliminate corruption in Ukraine. Why would they want to push her out.......when this admin says they were doing the same thing?

Read it. The coincidences are amazing.

They need to testify, what exactly were they planning on doing to her?

Hyde later sent several texts suggesting he was keeping tabs on Yovanovitch in Ukraine, adding, "They are willing to help if we/you would like a price."

Afterward, Hyde wrote, "Guess you can do anything in the Ukraine with money."

I guess Trump did know what Rudy was doing.

"I represent him as a private citizen, not the president of the United States. "

"In my capacity as personal council to president Trump and with his knowledge and consent"

Why is trump's personal attorney meeting with a foreign leader?

The Parnas interview was mind blowing. Pence, Barr, and Nunes are not sleeping well tonight.

I've cross examined a lot of witnesses and he was pretty believable. Extremely relaxed in answering and no fillers to create time to think through what he was saying.
I didn't Maddow pushed enough on why he was doing this now.
I found it persuasive when he pointed out there would be no reason for all these important people to take meetings with him if he wasn't connected to trump/Rudy etc.

What's your opinion on why he would go on TV? Should he not have a deal with SDNY if he had all this info? If you were his lawyer wouldn't you advise he not go on TV?

I find this whole thing pretty baffling. Obviously the case is far from the norm. The entire situation is made opaque by the continued involvement of Atty. Gen. Barr. I would have expected him to relinquish oversight of at least the Parnas portion (which I suppose he may have already done, although it doesn't appear so). If that had been done, I can't believe that any reasonable prosecutor would not have entered into a proffer agreement to have determined long ago what Parnas had. Defense lawyers are disinclined to ever have clients openly discussing their cases, let alone on national television. I suspect to some extent it is a calculated decision by Parnas and his attorney to believe that if they put the information out there it may result in enough public pressure that the prosecution relents or that the Administration simply changes in November. It's extremely difficult to assess because of the complete lack of transparency. Whether one is a Trump hater or supporter, it seems that the entirety of the handling of this by DOJ should be very troubling.
