    No Big Ten schools advance to the second weekend

    2nd weekend would be sweet 16... as in 16 teams. I would probably lean toward there being no B1G teams there, especially since Minny's SG is injured and they play a good Butler team if both advance past the 1st game. Not too bold of a prediction.

    I hadn't seen that. The committee didn't seem to "punish" Minny for that, leaving them on the 5 line. I'm not very familiar with the young man, but I just read he averaged about 10 ppg and hit the most 3's on the team so it sure sounds like a big loss. Sorry to hear that for any player.

    How so? Minny and ISU were both 7-7 vs. RPI top 50, both teams SOS virtually the same (20 and 22). Butler was much better than Purdue at 9-4 vs top 50 vs. our 5-5, while Butler had the 10th hardest schedule vs. our 52nd. I'm not sure if you think Butler should have been a 3 and had an...

    Those teams didn't mean anything before they beat us. If we lose Thursday, you can certainly add Vermont to that list.

    I think Purdue got a GREAT draw. Only thing better would be to have Gonzaga instead of KU, but can't complain about a 4 in the Midwest. Milwaukee is not a bad opening location at all.

    Just wait if we lose next Thursday or Friday! You will have to ignore A LOT of people who will rightfully be complaining about no NCAA wins in 5 years. I for one DON'T think that will happen as we should have too much talent. But we will know soon enough.

    I would pick us still, but the 12/5 line is the worst opening game for a "good team". Since 1985, just as many 6 seeds have advanced past round 1 as 5 seeds while 4 seeds advance 15.5% more often than either.
