Can CJ get there? This year?

It felt a bit like Purdue could be making some moves in the starting lineup after Myles Colvin and Camden Heide had struggled the last few games. That change is here with CJ Cox and Caleb Furst replacing Heide and Colvin in the starting five.

Clearly he's the best PG since 1980 if not ever at Purdue, but who is 2-5? I don't remember anyone before Stephens since I was a baby. I'd go Stephens 2, and everyone else blah.

Loyer simply needs more shot attempts. Shooting a ridiculous 52.5% from 3. (Hard to believe but there are a handful of volume 3 shooters even better in the B10, but there are).

Btw Purdue has 5 players, every starter, shooting better than 42%. Amazing & great for a small ball team.

It has been there several times, but coaches have TKR on a high usage rate. One game the usage rate was so high Loyer was in the corner open - with his hands on his hips watching another pass to TKR. (Not complaining mind you, as good things happen for the team with TKR...and a big part why the 3 is open.)

I am sure the scouting report has or will adjust a bit towards TKR and Smith. Thus, I am looking for a big 24+ pt game out of Loyer here real soon. Funner when he is raining them down in Mackey......but I'm thinking we might not have to wait that long to see it happen?

We are "ranked" 43rd for 2025 in the power-5. This reminds me of the pre-salary cap NFL, where the richest, most committed owner(s) would throw $$$ at players to build a team.

Bubble(Net) Iowa, Nebraska, Northwestern, Indiana and Rutgers! Only 2 BT teams have more than 1 Quad 1 wins, Oregon 4-1 and Purdue at 3-2. Both those teams have played the toughest schedules. ESPN has Illinois, Purdue, Michigan St., Maryland and UCLA winning the Conference at 13-7! Have Illinois favored by % over Purdue 37.6 to 22.4, yet has Purdue as a 3 seed and Illinois as 11 seed??? Of the top 10 teams only UCLA and Penn St. have Quad 2 Losses, 1 a piece, Michigan is the only team in the top 10 to have a Quad 3 loss!
