IU just raised their head coaches salary to $8 million. I believe that they certainly understand business way better than Purdue’s board and athletic director. Giving Walters another year and hiring assistant coaches with two year contracts means you will have Walters two years as well. Good business sense is to cut your losses now not two years from now. BIG TEN pays the schools $80 million dollars a year. Taking in pay for players at $20 million leaves $60 million dollars to fix the coaching and have at least $20 million dollars left. Yes, that includes paying the new coaches really well.
Of course if you continue to be cheap like Purdue and get ass stomped year in and year out like they appear content to do, they should not be surprised in the future when they are kicked out of the BIG because they add no value to the BIG.

Taking a first look at the Michigan State Spartans ahead of Purdue’s trip to East Lansing on Friday.

I believe last night's 3-set win over Illinois deserves some recognition on this board. The Boilers are continuing to improve and up their game as the season progresses. Except for the last half of the 3rd set which they pretty much had wrapped up early, I think last night's performance was the best they've played this season. Illinois is a very good team and we pretty much destroyed them. Along with other key players on this team who are all playing very well, we now have Carr is playing some excellent volleyball. It seems to me that her 6-6 height is quite intimidating the other teams.

Thursday's road game against PSU will be a really good test to see how far we have progressed, particularly since they beat us very easily on our home court at the start of the B1G season.

Those people in the know , know that Hope was actually fired mid season after the fiasco at Minnesota. Nothing was said, and Hope was allowed to continue coaching through the remainder of the season.

Those in the know also said Morgan had a verbal agreement with the coach from Northern Illinois to replace Hope. However, that coach ended the season strong. And decided to go to NC state instead.

Is it possible Walters has already been fired? And BOBO already has an agreement in place for his replacement? But he just can’t announce it?

What I find curious is BOBO has been dead silent. And also hasn’t given out that infamous vote of confidence that always means the coach was fired.
