Talent.

I’d be interested to see how our OL, DL and LBs compare on measurables with the same positions as ND.
Things like height, weight, 40 times, shuttle, 225 bench reps.
Point being, is there a significant difference physically, or is it a scheme/coaching issue.

I suspect it’s not a huge difference physically, as opposed if you compared the same with a MAC team.

Purdue football Depth chart announced for Oregon State game

Purdue releases its depth chart ahead of the Oregon State game.

CJ Smith and Nyland Green remain absent. George Burhenn is also missing after being out on Saturday.

Defensive backs Anthony Brown and Earl Kulp also appear in reserve spots.

To our liberal, progressive friends on here...

Does it bother you that Harris was anointed without ever receiving a single vote nor having to run and earn the nomination?

Does it bother you that Walz was anointed as was Harris without having to campaign for the position?

Does it smack of racial/sexual discrimination to you that there are/may be far better democrat candidates that would do a hell of a lot better job than either of the anointed ones?

What happened to a Democrat convention where the candidate has to earn the position, selected by those elected to select the candidate?

Do you consider this a sham anointing, or do you think it's the fairest and most democratic method of selection?

And does it bother you that your party has been taken over by left wing radicals?

Pre Debate Predictions

Like the last debate, I like to make pre Debate Predictions....

✅ First I think K2 will do fine answering moderator questions. She will have her new K2 lies well polished and deliver them with the skill of a defense attorney like K2 almost knows what will be asked.
✅ Trump is not a good debater and will continue to say generalized statements that do not sway people. Example from last debate..."You were the worst President ever(referring to Biden)" - without saying why. While that may be true, if you don't link that statement to the issues you are just blowing hot air.
✅ ABC will have 2+ questions that are NOT related to top poling issues. Examples of lower poling issues they might ask.....
*** Climate change
*** Highlighting Trump court battles
*** Civil rights and racism
*** Terrorism
*** Abortion
*** IVF
*** Access to birth control
*** Sharp rise in Antisemitism
*** Child Care
*** Endorsements
✅ ABC will skip at least one issue that polls high to Americans. Here are the top issues poling wise....let's see how many are skipped? Below are the top issues in most polls....
*** Economy
*** Prices
*** Ilegal immigration
*** Secure Border
*** Polarization of our country
*** High Price of Health Care
*** Drug addiction
*** Deficit
*** Crime and gun violence
ONE of my poll sources ...https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/2024/05/23/top-problems-facing-the-u-s/pp_2024-5-23_economy_2-01/
✅ ABC will also phrase some important issues, away from the central issues of the poll. Examples instead of asking about high price of health care, they will phrase it as availability of health care. Another example, instead of phrasing it as illegal immigration, they will say immigration or newcomers. Instead of talking about high prices they will phrase it as inflation or economy. Etc.
✅ I wonder if ABC moderators will be fair -- or if they abandon all partiality and side openly with K2. I think surely not??? I expect them to NOT be fair. It won't be the first time we have seen it from our "supposed journalists".
✅ Trump should try to get K2 to talk more to non moderator questions. Let her speak impromptu, that's when it gets interesting. Trump is NOT skilled enough to do this.
✅ Most of America will NOT watch as they could care less. Sad, but true.
✅ Both candidates will declare & spin victory, but in reality America is the loser with these 2 awful, damaged candidates

Will we finally see CRW defense at Purdue in 2024?

In 2023, we saw a glimpse of what a CRW defense could be.
Nic and KJ terrorizing the opposing QBs
Dillon T being a ball hawk at Free Safety.
But we did not have the right personnel to execute this defense. OC Brothers was not able to lock down the ILB position and our DBs were only as strong as our weakest link.

In 2024, a strong DB room is much deeper. We have speed. Last year, the fastest players on the team was #1 Dieon Burks, #2 Dillon T.
This Spring the fastest players on the team is #1 Nyland Green, #2 Breedlove, #3 CJ Smith #4 Dillon T.

Side note: Sam Webb from Wolverine radio said Michigan’s Defensive Back recruiting strategy is to see who CRW is recruiting and try to flip them. Last year, they flipped Jo Edmonds. Year before they flipped an Illini commit. This year they tried hard to flip T Grant. Grant is with us now.

Feeling good that Dillon T is our safety. I would not be surprised if our other safety is one of the incoming freshmen K Beasley or Luke Williams.

Feeling good that we have KJ as our ILB. And Yanni has another year experience playing ILB in this defense.

We have more size in DL. It was an interesting take when CRW thought J Harkless can develop into J Newton type player. Quite a comparison.

As for OLB, a lot of unknowns but a lot of potential. Hard to replace Nic and KJ. But can CRW develop the OLBs we have to reproduce the results? Optimistic that W Heldt will have a big year. Opposite him, Will CJ Madden, Shitah, Ojata make the jump?

Last year our weakness was our DBs and ILB. I think CRW has addressed those positions.

What defensive position group do you feel good about? What position group concerns you? Will we finally see the CRW defense this year?

Our offense

Does anyone understand it?

Do we not have any quick hitting pass plays? Is a screen to the RB not in Harrell's playbook?

For as much shit as the defense is taking in this loss (rightly so), the offense was just as disappointing to me.

Seems like a good OC would have been able to neutralize the ND front somewhat.

On another note, I like Card, but he doesn't seem to have much grit to him. When the going gets tough he just kind of melts.

Purdue football Loss provides room for growth, or the onset of a grim 2024

Purdue’s embarrassing loss to Notre Dame provides an opportunity for growth… or begin a grim 2024. The Boilermakers will decide which fate is theirs moving forward.

  • Poll
Play in Bowl game and lose vs never going to a bowl

Which would you rather be?

  • Always go to a bowl but get your weak arce handed to you

    Votes: 10 66.7%
  • Play a respectful schedule aligned to your conf but never get to a bowl

    Votes: 5 33.3%

The discussion around using weaker schedule to get to a bowl is an interesting debate. So I'm curious what your take is on this scenario.

The obvious issue with playing lesser talent is it doesn't push your team to improve, fight, and earn the win. So, when face equal or harder talent, you lose.
